Twyla on Tuesday

This year's Christmas was such a special time. I hope you won't mind if I show you some of the beautiful gifts that I received. These adorable salt and pepper shakers were a gift from my son. He knows what I like! They are from Lefton and they are part of a set called Miss Priss.

Lindsey found this set for me in a local flea market. I believe it is also by Lefton and called Dainty Miss.

I also received this beautiful bowl. Isn't it gorgeous?! I love these vintage items more than things from the mall. My kids know this and shop for me in antique stores. I also got several items from ebay. Some beautiful postcards that I look forward to sharing with you in the future.

Lindsey did surprise me with this awesome gift. It is a copy of our blog in book form! How cool is that?!

It's not complete yet, but we're going to get it in sections.

She ordered it from Cutest Blog on the Block and they do a really nice job!

It's scary to think that your blog could disappear and this is a great way to insure that all your work is not lost forever. I really can't wait to get the rest of it.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of my Christmas gifts. I'll show you a few more in the next few weeks.
Once again, we want to thank everyone for making our Sugar Kissed Christmas such a fun project for us and we are very excitedly thinking of some Valentine ideas to share. We can't wait!
It's been nice doing a Twyla on Tuesday post again!
Wishing you much happiness!
Twyla

Don't you just love Lefton pieces? I know I do. That blog book is really unique - I am glad you have this copy of part of your blog. It WOULD be a shame to lose all that work.

Dearest Twyla,
Thank you for coming and leaving such sweet comments! I just want my blog to be a dreamy place where anyone can come and forget the stress of life! And your gifts are simply divine! Gifts from the antique stores are always more special. My husband gave me some vintage French books and the most beautiful print called, "A Penny a Bunch." It is very old, in a gorgeous gilded frame and it is exquisite! NOW, THAT BOOK! I must look into that; funny that you mention about possibly loosing your blog content. I was just wondering the other day where one could permanently store their material just in case something happened. The book looks amazing. I must check it out! Have a wonderful year!!! Anita

What beautiful gifts you received! You're right, in that the kidlets know what you like and where to shop for you.

Don't you just love your blog book? I've done four so far...one for every 50 posts. (A little less expensive that way, I think) But, well worth it to have our thoughts in written/book form. I look at my blog as sort of a journal, and these books make it official!

Happy New Year, Girls!

Wow! Your kids either have the thrifting bug too or they are just really smart kids to get you what you want rather than running to the mall like most people do. Lots of wonderful lovely gifts. I did't know you could get your blog as a book. That really is the sweetest gift. Like mother like daughter! Blessings, :) Tammy

I don't mind looking at vintage items, so show away. Those salt shakers are so gorgeous. I also like thrift shops and antique places, you can find the neatest things. That was a great idea putting your blog in book form, very clever. Looking forward to seeing more of your items. Have a Happy New Year and thanks you two for coming by.

What a cool idea for the blog to be in print. That is so neat! Yes, Christmas was so special this year. I love seeing your gifts...that's it...I'm going to ask my kids to pretty please shop at antique stores for me too instead of the big box stores...Ha...I can see my boys picking me up old soup cans or cowboy boots for a laugh. I have one son that loves to antique and the other one that says...he wouldn't be caught dead in one! Ha...daughter too...she's a totally modern women...how did I give birth to her? We laugh about it all the time. She can't decorate either and hates doing it...but God gives us all talents and gifts...mine just was not the local high end malls...just like you, antiques and vintage finds are the best!

Wow...what wonderful gifts. I love things from the antique store and thrifts store! I shopped for some of my daughter's Christmas gifts at Antique Malls and she loved them. She collects antique tins, coffee, sugar, etc. and trinket boxes, the small ones! She in return found me some Christmas items from a local thrift store that I love. We love it. We are both crafters, me more so than her and I love to scrapbook. I love all things vintage especially Christmas and pink!!! :0) I'm so glad you found me becasue I love it here on your blog too! I will be back often. Thanks for your visit...I enjoyed it! Please come again real soon:)
