My last day

This is the last day for posting in The Post a Day in May Challenge we participated in. The challenge was by Allsorts. I really thought it was going to be harder but I really enjoyed it. I want to try and keep up a regular posting schedule like this. Not saying there will be one every day but at least I will more often than I did before May.
Well, we had Friday off so these last two days have been filled with lots of flea markets. Yesterday we just headed off down the highway in search of flea markets in small towns. Let's just say we did a lot more driving than actual shopping but we ventured out in the hopes of finding some really good stuff. So we found a few treasures on our journey.
Today was better. We went to some of our favorites and we came out with our arms full!
Here is a few of our goodies we found. I will share more of our stuff later this week for we had a cloudy day today and so my pictures turned out too dark.
This is an unused baby book
A whole stack of vintage wrapping paper
This beautiful geisha figurine
And a cute planter

Look what I got!

I had a package on the doorstep when we got home today! It's my Parasol and paper swap goodies from Angela Harris! I can't believe she got it to me so fast!

I was so excited to rip into it! This is the first swap I have ever participated in and I wasn't quite sure what to expect but it was better than I imagined!

She went above and beyond what was required for the swap! Look at it all! First I must say I knew that she had beautiful handwriting but WOW! Look at the box where she wrote my name! Amazing! I love the picture. The frame is so gorgeous! And the packet of paper ephemera is awesome! Look at some of the beautiful altered valentines she sent along too!

Thank you so much for everything you sent Angela! I love it all! Now I've got to hurry and get yours to you!

Have you seen

The new Sugar n' Cream yarn in the big skeins? They come in several beautiful colors. We found them at Michael's.
Here is a picture of one of Mom's beautiful dishcloths made using the color Softly Taupe. I would love to have a skein in every color!

Anybody notice I changed the header? Not exactly what I had in mind but it will do.

A late post

Happy Monday! This is the last Monday of May! This month seems like it just started and now it's almost over.

This is a little thrift store jar that Mom altered. I think it turned out really cute especially the pink twine around the top. I love the Sugar n' Cream pink twine. I could use it on everything.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial day!

Have a wonderful day, Lindsey and Twyla

One week to go

Then I will have blogged every day for a whole month! It really hasn't been as hard as I thought it might be. I have luckily had my flea market finds to show you all. Having to watch the puppy constantly hasn't left time to work in the craft room. I can just imagine what he would tear up in if we let him in there! Hopefully he will get past his want to eat everything in sight stage soon.
So here are my latest finds this weekend
This is a box of paper coasters. The box calls them drip mats.
I just know they will be good for something.

I love this little trash can. What sweet little poodles! I love the one looking in the mirror.

These books have such sweet graphics. The playful puppies book is so funny. They call them poodles but they look nothing like poodles to me!

It's a matching planter to my cookie jar I found at the thrift store Thursday. I couldn't believe my luck. I walked right into a flea market today and there it was in the first booth!

I have questions

I hope someone might have an answer or two.
We planted two light pink rose bushes two years ago. Last year we had a really bad ice storm and one of the bushes died the other didn't die but never bloomed. This year our roses look like this.

Would anyone know why? Is it even a rose? It doesn't look like a rose. The buds look like roses but then it blooms and looks different. The bush is full of thorns making me think that it is some type of rose but I don't know. Anyone know?

Here is a picture of our lovely peony bushes that have just now started to bloom out.

Here's my other question. This is a cookie jar I got at the thrift store Thursday. Anyone know what brand it might be? I think it's adorable and I thought at first when I got it that it was handmade but I see that symbol on the bottom and think it must not be.

A day at the Zoo

It was such a beautiful day that we headed out to the Zoo and was it ever crowded. There were so many little kids running around.
The Irises were just gorgeous!
Here are a few pictures of the animals we seen.

We were at the Wolf exhibit and there were a family standing next to us and the little boy looked up at his Dad and said, "Daddy do they bite?" "Yep" he said. Then he looked at his Mom and Said " Mommy do they bite?" "Yes sweetie" she said and then the little boy said "Do they bite hard?" "Yes they do".
I thought that was so cute!

This is a picture of my Brother Jordan and I standing in front of the waterfall.

Here we are sitting at a water fountain.

I hope you enjoyed seeing our day at the Zoo. I will be posting more pictures of my latest flea market goodies tomorrow.
