We had so much fun this weekend joining Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist in her Halloween Celebration. I would like to thank everyone who visited our post and left comments on it. It means so much to us that our efforts were appreciated.

One of the items that was mentioned quite a bit in the comments was this pincushion I made.

I found these cute pins and thought 'What kind of pincushion would a witch use?' So, I came up with this.
I enjoyed creating it so much that I decided to design another one. I found this wonderful tea-dyed muslin at JoAnn's and we stamped the designs on them. I think it makes a really cute pincushion.

Sunday, we went to Silver Dollar City and had the best time at their Fall Festival. There were craft booths set up around the park. All of the art work was so beautiful and interesting. Here is a picture of Jordan and myself at our favorite booth.

This woman and her husband create these beautiful wood carved houses. You'll have to click on the picture to see them close up. They were so enchanting.

The man explained how he carves them out of dead cottonwood and he was working on some while we were there.

Of course, we kept coming back until we had to get some for ourselves.

Believe me, it was hard to choose between them!

I would love to have a whole village. I can just imagine the little gnomes that would live in little houses like these.

We had so much fun. Silver Dollar City is a wonderful place to visit and this is my favorite time of year to go there.

Besides all the fun I had this weekend, I had a terrible toothache on Saturday that resulted in me going to the dentist Monday morning and getting the tooth pulled. I spent most of the day sleeping. The laughing gas made me very drowsy. I am doing much better now.
I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful week. I look forward to visiting each of you soon! Twyla

Oh, dear! I've never had a tooth pulled! Glad you're feeling better now, Twyla!

Do you think you'll make more pin cushions? You stamp all kinds of stuff on that muslin.

It's fun to see a pic of you and Jordan out and about! I miss my boys so much!

Those little houses are cool! Dead cottonwood, eh? Hmmm... Did he say why that particular wood? One of my step dads did wood carving on larger pieces like bear cubs and little animals. very wahsington. ☺ I'd love to see my Micah get into it. i think he'd enjoy it.

I'll be working on my party post today! Hopefully I can get all my pics in the right order! ♥

Hi Twyla,so very sorry about the toothache. I have had some bad ones in my life. The pain is so unbearable. I am glad you are feeling better now. Your outing looks like such fun and those little houses are just wonderful. What a great job you both did on the pin cushions. I was wondering what Jordan was holding in his hand in the picture of you two. Looks like fried Pork skins to me....they sell those a lot here at the flea markets, etc. They are great with hot sauce. However I have been trying to eat more healthy so they are off my list...smile.
Hope you are having a very blessed week.......

Hi Twyla,
I'm so glad you were able to get into the dentist and are feeling better! I'm still feeling not so hot over here but perhaps an eensy beansy bit improved.
Oh gosh, I've missed so much - I've got a lot of fun catching up to do! I can't wait to read all about your Halloween Celebration. Your pin cushions are so darling!
Happy Tuesday!

How fun--when I lived in Missouri we never got there--Silver Dollar City. One of those places that you have in your "backyard" but never get to.
Glad you are feeling better too.

Those carved wooden houses are so great. I can see why you had trouble choosing. I was one who admired your pincushion at the Halloween party, and I like the new one, too. Sorry to hear about your tooth and glad you are feeling better.

Wowweeeee....you were so right...I would LOVE the houses! I want one! How do I get one???? They are so enchanting...over the moon and back enchanting.
The cottage on the pin cushions almost looks like the famous cottage from Mary Engelbriet in some of her original drawings years ago. What a fun day. We need those kind of days...often! Please let Lindsey know I'm searching for a box to send her a cute Barbie treasure!

Stamped designs on pincushions, how cute. Loved the little gnome houses, I could use one for my gnomes here in Alaska. Sorry on the tooth, it must have been bad to pull, no root canal then.
