Beautiful Postcards

These are some of the postcards from an antique postcard album I received for my birthday.
The album was dated 1913.

I would like to, from time to time, share these beautiful images with you.
Feel free to use them in your crafting.

Have a wonderful day!

Barbie Wednesday

Hello friends!
Today I am sharing this cool flea market find!

I found this Barbie Color by Number book filled with neat illustrations!

A few of the pages were colored in but most were left unused.

Here is a closeup of the unused page.

Wishing you all a lovely day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello dear friends!
I want to thank you all for your sweet birthday greetings to me this past weekend.
I had such a nice birthday and received so many beautiful old postcards
that I am anxious to share with you.  This one is 'one' of my favorites!

My latest afghan is a granny square afghan.
I just loved these colors together.  I have to hand it to Lindsey because
she is the one who suggested these lovely colors together.

It is now for sale in our etsy shop.  You can imagine how many
afghans I have accumulated since I've become obsessed with making them!
I simply have too many to use or display, although my kids are always speaking up for them!

I have been doing some rearranging on a bookcase in my living room.
I found this old print at a flea market in our area.  I absolutely adore old prints!
This one is a Paul de Longpre and is dated 1901.
I put together this vignette to highlight it.

Thank you all for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!

Birthday!

Welcome everyone to my birthday party!

My dear children and best friend chose a 'postcard' theme
for my birthday party!

They all know how much I love old postcards.  Lindsey made the big postcards
on the wall.  Isn't she creative!

I received many beautiful old postcards as gifts.  I was just overwhelmed.
My friend even won a beautiful old postcard album full of cards on ebay!
I was totally blowed away.

I will be sharing with you over the next few weeks some images from the
beautiful cards I received.  I also got an Enid Collins purse, a piece of Hull pottery and
charms for my Pandora bracelet!

Today, the 24th, is my birthday.  We celebrated last evening.
If you've read our blog for very long, you know we think birthdays
are special.
Have a beautiful Saturday!

Birthday Week

It's Mom's birthday this week! We are busy getting her party table ready!

I hope you stop by on Saturday to see her theme revealed!

Any guesses on what theme we chose? My Brother and I are very inventive!

Have a great day and enjoy these sweet Birthday images, Lindsey

Barbie Wednesday

Hello friends!
Today's Barbie post is themed around vintage Barbie swimsuits!
Of course Barbie's most iconic swimsuit is this zebra striped suit! Sold from 1959 to 1960.

Another popular swim suit for Barbie was this red Jersey knit suit.

This lovely striped gold swim suit came with the Fashion Queen Barbie. This doll is one of Mattel's reproduction releases this year.

Mattel's other new reproduction release is of my favorite vintage Barbie swimsuit, The American Girl doll. Released in 1964.

Last year for Barbie's 50th celebration they released an updated version of the zebra striped swim suit.

What's your favorite Barbie swimsuit? There are so many over the years to choose from!

Have a lovely day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello sweet friends!
As I sit down to visit with you this week I can't help but
think about the terrible heatwave that so many are experiencing across
the country.  We have had mid 90 degree temps for a week now with heat
index over 100.

We've been drinking lots of liquids to keep our cool and everything just tastes better from our
vintage swanky swigs.  Yes, we use these.  I just don't put them in the
dishwasher.  Don't want to ruin those beautiful graphics!

These pretty litte blue and pink glasses are juice sized.  I put them in the vintage
nursery jar holder.  I thought the two paired up nicely.

Blue being my favorite color, this set is a favorite.  See the windmills?
I need to find one more to make a set of six.  I once saw a set of six with
the matching pitcher and I didn't get it.  Don't you know I've regretted that!

I love clocks and clock faces.  I found this wallpocket in a booth this weekend that had a 50%
off sale.  It only costs $3.25!  So cute!

I am working on a new afghan.  One made up of granny squares.  I was inspired
by the colors I used in the Magic Carpet Ride afghan and wanted to do another
using the same colors.  When it is finished, I am going to list it in our etsy shop.
As you can imagine, I have a lot of afghans since I've become obsessed with making them
and need to sell a few :)

I also wanted to let you know that I am having a sale on the baby blankets that I made
for the shop.  I had priced them at $28.50.  I am now selling them for $23.00.

I love to crochet so much and find it so relaxing and such an awesome creative outlet.
Many of you say you wish you could crochet.  I have discovered that there are some
very good tutorials on how to crochet on Youtube.  I hope that you will give this
fun craft a try.  It's addictive!
Thank you for stopping by.  I appreciate the time that you take out of your busy lives
to visit me.  Wishing you a cool day!

Bathing Beauties Mini Album

Hello friends! This is a Bathing Beauties mini album I created as a sample for the Scrapbook store, The Scrap Nook where I work.

This album was created using Graphic 45's On The Boardwalk collection. I used an entire 8 x8 paper pad to create this book.
I tried Tim Holtz Film Strip ribbon for the first time when I created this album and I love it!!! It's clear film ribbon that you can glue or staple on to paper to create this cool look! After I made this book, our entire stock of film strip ribbon sold out and we still can't keep it in stock!

I also tried this great new product called, Mudd Puddles. It's a sand paste that you spread out across your project and when it dries you have this great look!

This album was so much fun to create! I used images from the paper line along with a few vintage postcard images printed from the web.

I am so addicted to Bo Bunny's dot ribbon! I use it on almost every page! Look for it at your LSS, they have a large variety of colors!

I have never been to the beach or have any beach photos to scrap, so I wasn't sure I could easily create with this line, but I loved it! So many cute patterns and the vintage feel is so fun!

Close up detail of ticket strips.

I love these old photographs! The older swimsuits looked so cute!

This album is so chunky! I love these Prima Flowers!

I had fun adding lots of little details to the book!

The film strip ribbon looks so neat that I added it without the paper.

Here's the last page of my mini album but that's not where the book ends...

Every page has a pull out on the side or at the top!

This book by Creative Imaginations came in white and I painted it blue.

Thank you for looking at this album!

Have a crafty day, Lindsey
