Hello friends! It’s been a busy week at our house. First of all, my son had a great 22nd birthday. Lindsey made sure he got lots of great gifts and my friend Susan was there to share lots of good wishes and presents as well.

My present to him was 2 days spent in Eureka Springs and a night at the Crescent Hotel. We began this tradition last year and had so much fun we had to do it again.

The Crescent is an old Hotel built in 1886, 100 years before my son was born. He has had a special interest in it for a long time. The hotel has gone through several incarnations during it’s lifetime, but is now it’s a lovely hotel.

Our hotel room was very lovely. It had a balcony and the view was breathtaking. We tried to spend some time in the room, but there’s just so much to do here.

We took the ghost tour. It is said to be one of the top 10 most haunted hotels in the United States. Nothing scary happened this year on the tour, but it is always interesting. After the tour we went on a little ghost hunting tour of our own.

The town of Eureka Springs is very interesting. It is built on hills and is called the stair step town. You can read about it here.

We enjoyed the numerous shops and loved sitting in the Daily Grind espresso bar drinking our new favorite – Vanilla Cream with coffee. The man said they invented it and it only has 10 calories and 1 gram of carbohydrates. It tasted sinful.

Can’t wait to go back for a day trip when the leaves reach their peak.

I hope all of you are having a beautiful autumn.

The ultimate of being successful is the luxury of giving yourself the time to do what you want to do. – Leontyne Price

Wishing you much happiness! Twyla

Hi Twyla
I enjoyed your pictures from Eureka Springs. It looks a great place to visit. I loved your room at the Crescent Hotel but the ghost tour sounds a bit scary! I am glad your son had a great birthday.
You will see an award for you and Lindsey on my blog next time you visit.
It's quite a wet Autumn in England at the moment but not really cold yet.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip.
