Twyla on Tuesday - Recent Finds

Hello!
It's been some time since I showed some
of my finds!
This weekend I traveled to the St. Louis area and
picked up these treasures.  One of my favorite
collectibles is motto prints.  Many of these are to
'Mother'.  This one is by the artist Marygold.  Her's
are always my favorites.  Incidently, this artist never
became a mother.  Her images are always so sweet.
She also does artwork under the name Tsanya.

I spotted this old scrapbook cover standing
on a shelf.  I love anything from this era.  It didn't
bother me a bit that it was only the cover.  It was
too pretty and I started thinking how I could display
it or even create a journal myself using this as the cover.

I was even more thrilled with it when I turned it over
and found items that the original owner had glued to the other
side!  Was it 'Mollie's' or 'Leona's', two names mentioned
on the cards.  Maybe those were 'her' best friends.
Did they stay in touch all their lives?  Were they
always there for each other?  Oh, I ponder the lives
of the people mentioned on the old ephemera I find.
Do you?

The date on one of the cards read 'Sept. 17th 1883'
Items like these are just priceless to me.
The small price tag for gold.

Another old treasure was this photo album.  These
are often in rough shape, but the small size of this one
made it so charming.  There is only one picture left
inside.  I am thinking of filling it with postcards.

Here's today's valentine!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my finds.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!
Love, Twyla

Ooog, aren't these gorgeous? I love the feel of them. Well, not literally the feel, obviously...but the look of them. Rambling? Me? ;-)

I love the victorian scrapbooks, postcards, and prints. I've collected for years. I'll never forget this. A girl I worked with brought me her grandma's early 1900s postcards to look at. She had a really good santa card and a few other good ones. Later, she told me her sister "borrowed" it and had it in a closet next to the hot water heater that exploded and got the album wet and she threw it away. I said "oh no!" They could have been dried out. That paper is so good, that you can totally immerse them in water and they will be okay.
