Twyla on Tuesday - Scarf Pattern

Hello dear friends!
I always sink into crochet in January.
After spending the last two months knitting
lots of houseshoes for Christmas presents, it is always nice to head into
a crochet project.

I have been indulging myself in these simple scarves.
It is very enjoyable to be free and creative with the colors.
I am using Caron's Simply Soft yarn.  There are so many
great colors to choose from and the weight is just right!

I simply single crochet every row!  Changing colors at
the end of each row, I leave a 5 or 6 inch tail at each
end for braiding into fringe.

Here's one I made for Lindsey in greens and blues.

If you'd like to make one yourself, I start with a chain of 276.
Pick any range of colors you like.  I like to use neutrals
in between the rows of brighter colors.  I call these
my Jewel Scarves.

My New Year's resolution this year was to read!
I love to read, but it somehow feels like a luxury that
I rarely took time for.  Well, this year I am taking the
time and I look forward to soaking up a lot of words of
wisdom and enjoyment.

If it weren't for Pinterest I am sure I would have a lot more
time to read, but there is so much wonderful inspiration there,
who can resist?!
Thanks so much for stopping by and spending part of your
day with me.
Wishing you much happiness!
Love, Twyla

Happy New Year dear friends,

Twyla, as always, your handi-work is lovely.....I'm still lovin' the slippers you made for me! I'm looking forward to seeing more lovely collage work from you, as well.

Lindsey, I look forward to possibly some more swaps and to be hearing more about you as you blossom further as an artist.

You ladies are truly lovely, and I consider it an honor to call you friends.

Love and hugs,
Meri

Good morning, Twyla! ♥

I love the green and blue! Those were my moms colors.
Braiding the ends is a great idea to keep them from getting tangled and it looks very Pacific North West!

Happy New Year to Twyla and Lindsey, I love the scarves and I don't know which would be my favorite. I think if I tried making one's it would be in shades of purples. It is a very simple pattern. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day both of you. Your Missouri Friend.

I made scarves like that with all the yarn I inherited from my grandmother. She crocheted and collected yarn for years! I had about 3 Rubbermade tubs FULL. In fact, I still have some of her yarn upstairs. And that was 6 years ago!
