Brown Paper Packages

Welcome, friends!

"Brown paper packages tied up with string."

Lindsey and I have been having fun experimenting with different ways to customize our gift wrapping this year.

We used regular brown wrapping paper, the kind used for mailing packages and used some of our favorite Christmas stamps and stamped images on the paper.

We thought how great it would be to stamp the person's name on the package so there would be no mixup when Christmas morning comes!

Lindsey showed me this neat trick of putting a rubber band around the letters. Clever girl!

Baby ric rac and flocked jingle bell in Sugar Kissed colors.

Here, Lindsey used ribbon and flowers to decorate the package.

Use your imagination and you can come up with many pretty wrappings that are totally customized.

Thank you for joining us today. We hope you liked this idea. See you tomorrow!
Have a Sugar Kissed Day!

Oh Girls, I so loved this post. What a beautiful idea for the holiday season. My living room tree is all brown, copper and gold and I have a burlap skirt. These packages being wrapped for that tree are going to be au naturale. I love this look for my tree. Thank you both for the wonderful ideas.

You should add "These are a few of my favorite things", from the Sound of Music, to be playing in your background. It would be so fitting for this post.

Thanks for sharing again. I so love to come and see what you have been working on each day.

Country hugs...Sherry

HI Twyla & Lindsey
Thank you so much for sharing your sugar kissed ideas. My favorite is the muslin stamped gift bags. I love how you decorated your brown paper packages. They look great and so stylish. Super idea about putting the rubber band around the stamps. I have a set like that and had never thought to do it like that. Thanks to you next time I use them everything will be neatly in line.
I am so glad I met both of you last year. I enjoy your friendship through your lovely blog and your sweet comments when you visit mine.
Have a great weekend. You girls are the best.

Hi Twyla!
I used to do a lot of this when the children were growing up and money was tight, but now it's just a matter of making gift card wallets! LOL!
I do like what you have done and I love the personal touch you and Lindsey have given them.
Warmest hugs,
Sandi @ Bearly Sane

I'm so impressed with the rubber band trick... it drives me nuts with my "neat freak" obsession and trying to keep things orderly when using stamps.

I use brown paper for presents but haven't yet tried stamping the paper... I'm going to give it a go I think

Lovely! My mother did drawings on our packages for about 10 years! We hated tossing them and then she had to go work and didn't have time to do them and felt very guilty for not. We all said then just don't! She was shocked but it was no fun if she was stressed! Love yours!! The pic is lovely too!

This are wonderful, what a great share for the Christmas season. When our kids were small, I wrapped all our gifts in news paper and red ribbon. I loved how it looked, I am not sure how the kids felt. They probably thought Santa was wrapping things cheap.

The pumpking bars are so good. I double everything but the salt when feeding a family get together. They love em.
I best get back to my stockings....
Hugs, Mary

The stamped brown paper looks so great! I really like that idea, especially customizing with the recipient's name. The ric rac is adorable, and so is the pink and red yarn. Ooh, I just remembered I have some red yarn! Now I know what to do with it :o) Thanks!

I must say that you got me on this one! The last couple of years I have used brown craft paper and personalized with cutesy tags. Last year I used white raindeer cutouts, fuzzy white yarn, and teal accents. LOVED it! And thanks for dropping by to check out my studio :)

Oh Lindsay is so clever! I always sit and try to line the letters up by hand and then end up with one higher or lower than the rest. I love the simplicity and the creativity in your wrapping! Very pretty!!!
