Latest Afghan!

Hi!

After finishing the last granny square afghan I
really had a desire to delve right back into
another one!

I forgot how much fun granny squares were!
I had intended to make it all different colors,
but the first two squares were red and pink and
when I saw those two blocks together, I decided
to make the whole thing red and pink!

I love the simple pattern and just let the
colors stand out.  A simple border was
all that was needed.

I used a combination of Red Heart's Love
and Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn.  If you've
used either of these yarns then you know how
soft and snuggly they are.

Hmmm, there's definitely a theme here
with my last two afghans!

Once done, I had to tear myself away from
my favorite color scheme and pull some yarn
in different colors!
Here's a sneak peak at the next afghan I am
working on.  Still in the mood for granny
squares but bigger this time!

To me, creating is like breathing.  Can't live
without it.  It gives me balance and smooths
out life's rough spots.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Love, Twyla

Gorgeous, gorgeous afghans, Twyla!!! I love the colors you chose, and they're all wonderful.

I know what you mean about "creating". Things just aren't right if I'm not working on something, and they're no such thing as "bored" in our homes, is there?

Thanks for sharing your beautiful work. I can't wait to see what's next.

So pretty, Twyla! the red and pink afghan is very valentiney. And I can't wait to see what you do with your latest fall colored granny. The browns, golds, teals and burgundys look really pretty together.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I've not been able to crochet all week but with Spring Break here and a dust storm that's keeping us inside, that's exactly what I plan to do. Your afghans are gorgeous! Tammy

Wonderful colors and great job, Twyla! Thanks for showing us. Oh What would life be without color?

I just read a series of books where creating, free expression and color choices were forbidden by the government. It made me feel thankful for the freedom I have to create with color!

I started on a new project yesterday- no sew curtain for my dinning room sliding glass door made from a vintage sheet! ♥

Oh I just love the granny squares! My grandmother created so many throws and pillows for her granddaughters in this pattern. Everytime I see granny squares, I think of her and all the love she showed us. Thanks so much for sharing!

Absolutely Gorgeous.
a friend; after cleaning out her closet, had sent me some hexagon shapes but have no clue on how to go about finishing it up. I don't knit or crochet, so the shapes are still bagged up and stored in a box; unable to find anyone around my area who does such a thing and is willing to finish it up for me.
Now, just how does a person go about sewing/attaching all the shapes together and finishing the afghan?

So beautiful! I love the Hobby Lobby yarn as well. We have a little "craft circle" at the College where I teach part time. I have the blessing and privilege of teaching a colleague how to crochet, and another friend is teaching my daughter to quilt. I will show them your beautiful blog.
