Good Friday

Hello dear friends!
On this Good Friday I thought I would share
pictures of some of the churches I have
photographed around Missouri.

I always feel like these country churches are the
heart of the communities.

I especially love the really old ones like these.

Like barns, old churches always catch my eye as
I travel.  I love the unique style of each one and
have a hard time not stopping to snap a picture
of each one!

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.'"
John 11:25-26

Have a wonderful Easter!
Love, Twyla

The old churches certainly have more character than the big halls they build now. Lovely photos. Happy Easter. Tammy

Thanks for this lovely post. We were blessed to serve in a small rural Church in Madison/Holliday, MO many years ago. I will always believe that these modest-in-number congregations serve the Lord with great might! Have a wonderful Easter!

Hi, Those country churches make you feel welcome if you should happen to attend one of their services. It makes you feel as though they truly care about you and invite you back. I love the old buildings and hate when I see them not taken care of. Have a wonderful Easter. Hugs and Prayers from Your NW Missouri Friend.

I love these photos, Twyla! I take pictures of old country churches, too. My husband knows, when we set out, that we are in for a church stop, or two, or three. I love the unique and quirky architectural details, as well as the really beautiful stained glass windows found in so many old churches. :-) Happy Easter to you and your family.
