Twyla on Tuesday - Mantle Re-Do

Hello dear friends!
I have had a couple of busy weeks
and I have missed visiting with you on Tuesdays!

You know how it lifts your spirits to do a bit of
redecorating?  Well, my mantle was in bad need
of a re-do.

There is a LOT on my mantle, but these are all things
I love and love to look at.  Motto prints, pottery, old prints
and a 1909 sampler that was a birthday gift from my son.
The oval behind it is a pearl inlaid chairback from an
antique walnut chair.

The picture below is one I took while visiting Eureka
Springs, AR this summer.  It is always a feast for the eyes
with visions of loveliness everywhere you look.

I'll leave you with a thought from a dear lady that
I miss.

'It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to
someone else.'  - Erma Bombeck

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a beautiful day!
Love, Twyla

I really miss our fireplace (and mantle). Thanks for sharing a photo of yours. Old samplers make me smile.

Those flowers are beautiful. Do you know what they are?

Have a great week, my friend.

Hi Twyla! I'm back for a peek at all the fun I've been missing - buried in work as I've been the past month and a half. Man! I miss you all sooo much. Just pulled a way later to post something - and will have a tea post up tomorrow. Now - about your mantle! Love all your treasures! I have a grand old sampler and one of those Victorian fashions plate illustrations in my office here. I change out my display spots every season - but sometimes I just hate to remove things. You have such fine taste - love all your craft room creations - always an inspiration!
Joy!

Good morning, Twyla! Good to see you posting!

Decorating always perks me up yet I have to be in the mood to do it, too... Hmmm...

I miss having a mantle to decorate! Maybe if my next house doesn't have one, I'll make a fake one. :) Well, keep enjoying playing house with yours! ♥

Morning Twyla,
Looks like you have a HUGE mantle! Yes, decorating is good for us! Besides your lovley items on the mantle I can "see" something tall and maybe some fall colors?! Cat-tails would be fun! Or those large ginger type jars! I probably have mantle "overload" on mine! LOL!!
Warmly,
deb

What an amazing stone fireplace. I'd love to see more pictures of the whole thing....with a roaring fire of course. I love all the vintage goodies on your mantle, very nicely done. I hope all is well with you and Lindsey.

Hugs,
Meri

I love how you have decorated your mantel...the sampler is wonderful. I have been to Eureka Springs one time...I would love to go again. Did you see the great passion play where you were there? I did..it was amazing!

You have a nice big mantle, which would make decorating it a lot of fun. I really like the old embroidered sampler.
