Pink Saturday

Hello Pink Ladies!
This week we are sharing this vintage face powder box.
I love the graphics and the pretty pale pink color.
The writing on the bottom says, 'Look your loveliest with
Cashmere Bouquet'.

Another little pink I couldn't resist.
Notice the little pink ear sticking up as Barney sleeps.
What a sweet baby!

Be sure to visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound and all the
other pretty pink posts!
Happy Pink Saturday!

My Craft Space: Red Riding Hood

Hello friends!
This week in my creative space I have been working on a Little Red Riding Hood mini album.

I got this cute paper and sticker line from Reminisce and thought it would be perfect for an album. Not much paper in the line but I knew I could find lots of coordinating patterns in my collection.

This was a super fun project!
 I made the album measure 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

To make the chipboard book, I took sheets of chipboard and cut it down to size. Then, I used my Cinch book binder to punch the holes.

After I finished creating the pages and gluing them down,
I cut the wire and bound the book.

I loved the giant stickers in this line. Makes for easy crafting!!

This album is available here in our etsy shop.

Wishing you well, Lindsey

Smile

Hello friends!
Here's a pretty little girl
to put a skip in your step and
a smile on your face.  She would also
be adorable to craft with while we are
staying in out of the heat!

Enjoy your day!

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello dear ladies!
I had a birthday Sunday and
I just had to share with you this sweet
gift that I received from my son.

It's a child's cupboard and is one of the cutest
things I have ever seen!

Birthdays are sweet and I am coming to terms
with the mounting years.  In fact, I feel very
blessed to be my age!

You've heard it said that if you'd known you
would have lived this long you'd have taken better
care of yourself.  I think I've reached that age
and regret some of the choices I've made.

I don't, however, feel that it's too late for me to make
some positive affirmations toward a healthier
lifestyle.  Drink more water, eat more fruit and
vegetables, eat less sugar, exercise more.

I have always had a positive attitude and look
forward to the second half of my life with faith
that it will be just as productive and fulfilling.

I have goals and dreams and plans.
I don't believe that there is an expiration
date on your dreams.  I have
many things I still want to do!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me
today.  I hope enjoyed seeing my sweet
little cupboard.  It almost looks bigger in these
pictures than it really is.  It stands just over 45"
tall.  It still has all it's original glass knobs!
Have a beautiful day!

Pink Saturday

Hi Ladies!
This is one of my favorite images.
It is by Jessie Wilcox Smith.
She was a great painter who painted
Good Housekeeping covers from 1917 to 1933.

The children she painted has such a sweetness
about them.  I particularly love this sweet
little girl so diligently knitting.
Be sure to visit Beverly and the other's participating
in Pink Saturday!
Have a great day!

Pierrots

Hello friends!
Recently my heart has been captured by these sweet little Pierrots!
I was searching on the net about the history of Pierrots and the more I read the more I became intrigued by them.
Their deco style and recurrent
misfortune is endearing to me.
So, when my Mom and Brother came home the next day from antiquing, my brother brought me a present!
This sweet little trio!

Aren't they too cute?
When researching Pierrots I had quite a time figuring out the correct pronounciation.
I wanted to be sure I had it correct, so I went online and happened across this free online talking dictionary site! It's so cool! If there is ever a word you are unsure of, type it in and find out!

Wishing you a lovely day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello sweet ladies!
I hope you are all managing to
stay cool.  It is definitely indoor
weather!  I've huffed and puffed,
but haven't blown any houses down.
Every day is near 100 degrees.
Ugh!

Today I wanted to share with you my cup
collection.

I love these old cups!
I usually collect the ones that have pink
or blue on them.

Over the weekend we shared our
craft room in the Where Women Create blog
party.
I like to decorate creatively, too!

I love collecting old sewing machine drawers.
They are perfect for displaying my small
treasures.

This display just makes me happy.

Remember the giant granny square challenge I
told you about last Tuesday?
I finished it!

It was just so much fun I couldn't stop!
Every time I sat down I picked it up and worked
on it.

I finished off the edges in a multicolor
picot edging just for fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful week!

Altered Frame Project

Hello friends!
Today I thought I would show you this frame I altered.
There are so many frames available
at thrift stores with endless possibilities!
I took this frame and added a decorative 5 x 7 matte to update this piece.

I used Odd's and Ends scrapbook paper by Cosmo Cricket to add a vintage feel to this frame. I really like the look of layered mattes so for this I created 3 layers.
2 layers being cardstock and this smallest being a pretty rose pattern.

Adding a ribbon across your matte is a fun way to add extra dimension and also a great way to help hold a photo in place.

So next time your at the thrift store, take a second look at the frames and see what you could alter!

This frame is available here.

Wishing you a lovely Monday, Lindsey

Where Women Create Blog Party

Welcome everyone!
We'd like to invite you into our
vintage inspired oasis!

There is something very personal about
the space we call our craft rooms.

It is easy to see that Lindsey and I Love
vintage!  We used a lot of
vintage pieces to function in our
craft space.

Lindsey is a scrapbook artist.
She also makes journals and tags
and altered items to sell in our etsy shop.
The papercraft supplies is the majority
of the room.

These little old windows are pink and called
our name when we discovered them in an
antique store.  So did the vintage chalk board!

Our craft room represents many trips
home from antique, craft and
thrift stores.

I, (Twyla), have started painting again.
I am sharing a messy scene of what my desk
looks like after I've painted a picture.

It is so hard to resist these little bottles of paint!

We love having our craft room to display some
of our favorite collections.  On these shelves
are Lindsey's collection of Irmi's.

The two paint colors we chose because we
couldn't decide between our two favorite
colors.  It worked out well in this room.
Pink walls surrounds my yarn storage area.

We hope you've enjoyed visiting our craft room.
It's been a pleasure sharing it with you.

Thank you to Karen for hosting this wonderful
party.  It is so much fun to peek into
everyone's space.

Have a wonderful weekend!
