Pink Saturday

Hi Ladies!
This is one of my favorite images.
It is by Jessie Wilcox Smith.
She was a great painter who painted
Good Housekeeping covers from 1917 to 1933.

The children she painted has such a sweetness
about them.  I particularly love this sweet
little girl so diligently knitting.
Be sure to visit Beverly and the other's participating
in Pink Saturday!
Have a great day!

Oh that is such a sweet and precious image! Guess what! I am happily making granny squares. The pattern at Tangled Happy was so easy and made sense. She does it differently than the patterns I've tried in the past and turns out it is soooooo simple, working from the corners rather than a middle. Why do some patterns have to be so fussy? THanks for your offer to help. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

Yes, Twyla, I love her work, too. Maud Humphrey also did lovely illustrations of children - love Kate Greenaway, too - all innocence and purity - just the way I like them! Wouldn't it be a perfect world . . . we dream. Thanks for posting!

How sa-weet it is!

One of my favorite themes is little girls doing classical "woman's work" like sewing, ironing, baking, etc.

What a gorgeous share today. I love seeing this little sweet bundle of joy sitting there just knitting away. Covers on magazines used to be so sweet. Now we never know what we might find. Love this one. Thank you for sharing.

Hope you have a glorious Sunday sweet friend. Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry

Oh my goodness, what a charming image. I guess being a crocheter I always get excited over anything knit or crochet related. I've always loved the Good Housekeeping covers and I'm glad to know this bit of history behind them. Pink Sparkles for your week,
