Twyla on Tuesday - Olympic Afghan

Hello ladies!
This week I wanted to share with you my Olympic afghan!

I am calling it my Olympic afghan because I wanted a
project to work on while watching the Olympics that
would be simple and not take very much concentration.
This one is just perfect!

It's a simple half double crochet and great way to use up
my yarn stash.  I love the stripes, too!
Are you watching the Olympics?  I always look forward
to them.  I admire the commitment and dedication of
the athletes.  It's one thing that brings the family
together around the television and it's always
nice when that happens.

It is very inspiring to see the wonderful attitudes of
the young athletes.  The way they graciously win or lose.
They are all winners for being able to participate.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll share
my afghan with you as it progresses.  I hope to have it
done by the end of the Olympics!
Have a beautiful day!
Love, Twyla

In the UK we are just wild about the Olympics!

I was lucky enough to go to one of the events and to also see the torch pass through my home town.

Love your blanket - I cant craft while watching the sports as Im the sort who jumps off her seat and waves her arms around!!

Olympic afgan...such a sweet idea! And I love it, every stripe and color. There's something about handmade afgans that always makes me so sentimental... Good for you for being so ambitious in front of the TV too! The runners are just amazing to me. Have a happy day! Kath

What a great idea, Twyla! I've been hearing talk of the Olympics on the blogs and facebook. Times like these, I wish we did have TV hook up but truth be told, I hate the comercials!

Have a great day! ♥

Look at all the pretty colors mixed together! I love it. Me and my daughter have been watching the Olympic each night also. We are big fans of the Gymnastics and the Volleyball, that's the two sports she is in herself here in our hometown!

Your blanket is perfect, love the colors and the stripes. The athletes are amazing, my son is a swimmer and he practices 5 hours a day during the summer and Has 11 practices a week during the school year. It is crazy the time that is put into a sport. And he isn't an Olympian!

I love your striped afghan. It's an easy stitch and I can see that it would be a great way to use up leftover bits of yarn. I'm making my first giant granny throw right now, but hope to try a stripe next.
