Irmi Monday - Switchplate Cover

Hello friends!
It's time to share with you another Irmi piece from my collection!

Not sure what nursery rhyme this cute guy comes from, but the moon makes me  think of Hey Diddle Diddle.
What do you think?

I love collecting the switchplate covers.
They take up so much less space than the lamps!

If you've never heard of Irmi before,
they created hand painted, wooden nursery items
from the 50's through the 70's.
Irmi also went by the names of Nursery Originals and Nursery Plastics.
They created lamps, switchplates, mobiles, plaques, night lights and other wooden nursery items.

Wishing you a wonderful day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday - Making Journals

Hello my dear friends!
Thought I would share with you what I've been up
to lately!  Making journals out of composition books!
I really enjoy traveling around our beautiful state and
I like to collect pictures and history of the areas I visit.

The two above are ones I am currently working on.
Once I get the paper and pictures glued down, I will journal
and embellish the pages with some of my stamps!
They aren't beautiful the way Lindsey makes scrapbooks.
Mine are more an effort to get my thoughts and memories
down in one place so I don't forget.

I find the practice so engulfing and when I am working
on one, I am totally absorbed.

I love collecting the paper and embellishments.
My husband has always told me you have to have the right tools
to get the job done right.  I like to think that's his permission
for me to buy the craft supplies as I need:)

Thanks for stopping by today and sharing a bit of my
crazy crafting.
Enjoy your day!
Love, Twyla

Vintage Children's Storybook

Hello friends!
A sweet little vintage children's book to share today.

I love the illustrations in vintage Rand McNally Elf books.
This book is from 1961 and illustrated by Helen Adler.

Aren't these sweet images?

They would be great printed to use on cards, tags layouts!

Have a day of joy, Lindsey and Twyla

Little Darlings Mini Book

Hello friends!
I fell in love when I spotted this new paper line last month.
It's called, Little Darlings, by Graphic 45.

This is my second mini album using this sweet paper!

I picked up this lovely cream and pink lace ribbon at Archivers.

This paper line is so fun to work with. Their are lots of sweet little images
to cut out and layer on the pages.

One of my favorite border punches that I use on almost every page
is the Eyelet Lace punch by Martha Stewart.

Wishing you a beautiful day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday - Rainy Day

Hello, my dear friends!
 I've never taken
myself very seriously and thought I might as well
take this opportunity to poke a little fun at myself.
I don't always have a crochet hook in my hand.  I
do try to get outside and get some exercise once in awhile.
I love walking especially when it's a beautiful spring day.
Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate though and you
end up getting more rain than you bargained for!

This is what happened Sunday.
The weather teased us making us think it would clear.  Parking the car, we
set off on a favorite path.  In the above picture it was just
a sprinkle.  By the time we got back to the car I was drenched!
Can you see the water on my glasses?!
My bangs were dripping wet, too!

My son thought it was funny and wanted to take
a picture of me.  It's good to laugh at yourself.
We had a great time and even if our clothes were
dampened, our spirits weren't!

Do something fun and wonderful today and
if it's raining where you are, consider going for a walk!

Love, Twyla

Irmi Monday - Circus Wagon Lamp

Hello friends!
It's time for Irmi Monday again and I am sharing
 this Circus Wagon themed lamp.

It has sweet colors and style and the cute little animal
(not sure what he is) winds up to play music.
Any guesses?

The wagon has a giraffe coming out of the top.

Irmi also went by the names of Nursery Originals and Nursery Plastics.

Vintage Cloth Book Images

Hello friends!
I thought I would share with you a couple images
from this vintage children's cloth book.

Most images are of the children sad and crying about
their missing kitty, but these two are very sweet!

In the end of the book, they happily find their kitty!

I hope you enjoy these images and use them in your crafting!

Wishing you a happy day, Lindsey and Twyla

Vintage Celebration Tag Tutorial

Hello friends!
I have a tag tutorial to share with you today!
A fun and simple tag to create in minutes!

Start by pulling out your paper scraps!
We all have them, right?
It's so hard to throw away all those little pieces
that you know could be good for a small project!
My stash is a mix of October Afternoon papers.
Mostly from the 5 and Dime collection.

I picked out this star pattern and grabbed a manila tag.
You can also cut a tag from cardstock to measure 3 x 6.

Cut out this cute vintage cat image.

I adhered my main background pattern to the tag and
inked around the edges with Speckled Egg and Malted Milk Dye ink.

I then cut a small pink checkered paper scrap and adhered to the bottom half of the tag.
Then, I cut a few small circles from scraps and inked the edges with brown ink.
I then adhered them to the tag randomly.

I added small details to the tag such as adding faux stitch lines around the circles,
I also add some stamping to the tag such as the word, Celebration,
small stars and a small pink banner at the top corner.
I then added a small pink scallop border to the bottom of the tag
and tied a pink bow to the top of the tag.

I adhered the vintage image to the center to complete the tag!

I love quick and easy little projects like this that don't take much time or supplies!
Hope you enjoyed!

Have a wonderful day, Lindsey

Getting Crafty!

Hello friends!
I've been excitingly awaiting the new paper releases for one of my favorite brands, Cosmo Cricket. This line called, Baby Jane especially caught my eye.

Why, you might ask?
Because it has retro patterns and crafty themed embellishments!

Here is what the set of chipboard stickers look like!

I just loved the color combination and fun retro patterns!

I had a lot of fun working with this paper line.
For ribbon I used seam binding that I dyed with Distress inks.

The paper was just perfect for making an album for two crazy crafters, right?

I have listed this album for sale on ebay.

Have a sweet day, Lindsey
