Twyla On Tuesday - Crocheting and Art Journaling

Hello dear friends!
We don't call ourselves Two Crazy Crafters
for nothing!  Our lives really do revolve around our
crafts.  When we shop, we visit the local craft stores
and the scrapbook store.  That is where our extra money
goes.  When we plan our day, it always involves one
of our many craft projects.  I really would not feel like
me without it.

I have so much yarn in my stash that sometimes it is
fun just to do a scrap afghan using all different colors.
It is a great way of using up all those little bits of leftover
yarn from other projects.

This is a happy little afghan.  Using my favorite
crochet stitch, the half double crochet. I just do one row
of each color using a size K hook.  I chained 135 to get
it started.  When it's the size I want I'll put a border around it.

I am so inspired by all the art journaling I see on Pinterest.
I wanted to give it a try.  Like they always say, there's no
wrong way to do it and the hardest part for me was just
to sit down and start.  I ripped and glued, painted
and doodled.  I am trying to figure out what my style is.
I haven't quite figured it out yet, but it was freeing and
enjoyable.  I am sure there will be more to show you in
the future.  This is my first feeble attempt.  It is different
from the collage canvas art that I do.  A little more personal
and definitely a challenge.

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a wonderful week!
Love, Twyla

Love the afgan! I'm thinking of starting one, but hadn't decided what pattern.
Good for you to start an art journal. It looks great!

I think your afghan is sweet, and your journal page turned out beautiful!

I have always journaled, but didn't start doing an art journal until this last Summer. I purchased Misty Mawn's book, "Unfurling," looking through that inspired me to start one.

Happy Tuesday!!

Oh my gosh, I was just thinking I should start on an afghan since I am sick with a cold and laying around a lot. Now I see the afghan on your post, so it must be a sign to me to go get my yarn and get going! Thanks for the motivation, I needed it!
Hugs,
Julie

Hi Lindsey and Twyla, I have stopped to take a little "Me" to visit some of my favorite blogs and leave a comment here and there. I love the afghans that you make. The scrappy one as I call it please don't take offense is so pretty. I love them to curl up in as I embroidery. I see so many other wonderful things that I would like to try, but I just don't have the time that I need. Have a wonderful day. Your Missouri Friend.

Hi Twyla, I love the journal. I just started one myself. Just trying to get in touch with the inner artist. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not familar with art journals but it sounds fun.

Did you know there's a yarn sale at Joann's today?

My crafting mojo seems to be slowing down and I wonder if it's time to go back to writing. I can't seem to focus on both at the same time.

I've been sad because my grandpuppy likes my neopolitian afghan you made me. I had to quit displaying it on my bed because she thinks it's a chew toy! I had to take my cute pillows off the bed, too. Oh well, give and take- right?

I was just considering I should begin on an afghan since I am tired with a freezing and resting around a lot. Now I see the afghan on your publish, so it must be a indication to me to go get my string and get going!
