Twyla on Tuesday - Crochet Happy!

Hello dear friends!

I have been having so much fun making

my 'stash busting' afghans!

You may remember when I shared the first one

and admitted that I was keeping it!

Well, I now have three and working on the fourth!

It is so fun coming up with the color variations.

I started these to try and decrease the amount of yarn

I have stored around my house.  I hate to say it, but

I've hardly made a dent in it!

This one with the blue border turned out so pretty.

Lindsey claimed it!  It's been on her bed since I

finished it.

These are such wonderful 'blanket-y' afghans.  They encourage

you to snuggle up in them.  Using my favorite half double crochet,

I simply change colors every row for a scrappy look.

This darker version is the one I'm working on now.

Irmi Monday - Angel Choir

Hello friends!

Time for Irmi Monday again!

This week I am sharing the only plaque I have in my collection.

I love the angel choir theme of this one and would love to see the coordinating lamp!

These plaques have such a cool three dimensional look to them!

I hope to find more one day!

If you've never heard of Irmi before,

 they created hand painted, wooden nursery items

 from the 50's through the 70's.

Irmi also went by the names of Nursery Originals and Nursery Plastics.

They created lamps, switchplates, mobiles, plaques, night lights and other wooden nursery items.

I think this postcard is so fun! Gotta love the gnomes!

I also found this cute vintage item at an antique store

amongst a stack of cards.

When you fold it over it becomes a honeycomb egg piece!

Vintage Easter Cards and Card Class

Hello friends!

With Easter on it's way this weekend I thought I would

share a couple sweet vintage Easter cards.

This first one cracks me up!

I just think the Dutch theme is so cute

 with the duck wearing the wooden shoes!

This one features bunnies painting a giant Easter egg.

Next week, I will be teaching this card and tag at Scrapbook Generation!

Each month, myself and 2 other ladies teach cards and tags,each of us with our own unique style! My card style is vintage!

A Vintage Girl Mini Album

Hello friends!

I found a few very sweet vintage girl patterns recently at an antique mall

and thought they would be perfect in a mini album together.

So I pulled out my stash of favorite October Afternoon papers and created this mini album.

I wanted it to have a fun retro feel and added a fun vintage aqua molded button to the cover.

I printed and cut my images on cardstock and added one to almost every page in the album.

I also embossed some the photo mats for a more whimsical feel!

I added lots of extra touches to this album like the decorative kraft envelope that opens to reveal another photo mat and journaling spot.

I just the love the bright Spring colors of October Afternoon's Sidewalks and Fly A Kite paper lines!

It took a lot of work to cut out all of these detailed images,

 but I love how they look throughout the album.

I am selling this album on ebay.

Twyla on Tuesday - April Birthday's

Hi Friends!

As you may have noticed, we have a

birthday list in our sidebar each month

that tells the birthday's of blogging friends.

The month of April is particularly long!

Happy Birthday to all of you with April birthdays!

April is such a happy month.

It starts off with good hearted humor and brings

sunny, spring days.

Not a month we think of funerals.

I attended the funeral of my dear Aunt on Monday.

She was 84 and had been married to my uncle

for 67 years.  They met when they were 14 and have

rarely spent a day apart in all those years.

Her children remembered here as loyal and honest.

I think she left a wonderful legacy.

I will miss her.



I thought you might enjoy this sweet little girl.

You may use her image in your crafting.

Collecting Irmi - Humpty Dumpty Had A Great Fall.....

It's time to share another piece of my Irmi collection!

This is a Humpty Dumpty lamp. While my lamp is yellow,

 I have also seen this lamp in blue.

 It's very common to see Irmi pieces in a variety of different colors.

My Addiction

Hello friends!

I have an addiciton to fabric!

Now that being said, have you ever seen any fabric crafts shared here on the blog?

 Nope, cause I don't sew, except for yoyo's which are easy!

But I have an addiction to feedsack print fabric.

 I love to buy fat quarters and Moda Charm Packs!

I think someday maybe I will pull out my sewing machine and learn, but for now I will just gaze lovingly at my overflowing stash of sweetness!

You Make My Heart Sing

Hello friends!

I recently picked up this fun, bright paper line called Neapolitan,

by American Crafts.

I loved the patterns of this line and created a paper bag album.

On the cover, I used a fun new doily shaped Sizzix die that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

I thought this was a very versatile line that would be perfect for scrapping parties or everyday life.

The line also had a fun camera and Polaroid feel too it!

One of my favorite sheets was the strawberry pattern!

Hello dear friends.

The days come and go so quickly and I am enjoying them to the fullest.

It truly is the little things in life that mean the most.

The trees blooming out.

The warm fresh breezes.

Soaking up nature.

It is good for the soul.

Listening to it's music.

What a joy.

Choices we make each day may seem small,

but add up to your life!
