Antique Children's Book Pages

Hello friends!
I love vintage children's books!
Especially ones filled with colorful illustrations,
but I picked up one recently that
only had a couple illustrations in it.

This book is called, Once Upon A Time from 1931.
I love this copyright page! Mushroom houses
 and fairies are awesome!

Not sure how both fairies and Mother illustrations go together,
but maybe someday I will sit down and read it!

Have a beautiful day, Lindsey

Card Class and Fairy Bella

Hello friends!
It's class night! I'll be teaching this card
and tag tonight at Scrapbook Generations.
As always, I use a vintage theme for my cards.

I picked up this gorgeous Fairy Bella paper line
by Prima recently and have since been gathering flowers
and embellishments for creating a new mini album.

I found this lovely fabric banner piece at Michaels.

I added silver and gold colors throughout this book
to give it a more regal look. I love using my Martha Stewart
around the page punches for photo mats.

I tried to make sure that every page would have a fairy on it.
I especially love the big blue flower on this page
that I picked out at Michaels.

A little bling was the perfect way to add
a little more whimsy to my album.
If your interested, this album is for sale on ebay.

Have a lovely day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday - Latest Finds

Hello dear friends!
I wanted to share with you
some of the latest treasures
I've found on my travels
around Missouri!

This beautiful little Roseville vase
was a steal this weekend!  It has a small
repair that doesn't hurt the beauty of it
at all!

Some of you may remember that I collect
Enid Collins purses.  This one is in such
perfect condition and such a cute image!
I don't think it was ever used as a purse.

I also love prints by Marigold.  These
are some of my latest finds.  Her style
is very whimsical.  It was hard to
photograph because of the glare.  In
the photo below you can see the wall
across the room:)

I hope you all are having a wonderful
spring.  It seems it is such a busy time.
I find myself with too many things that
need to be done while having so many
things I want to be doing.
I'm guilty of spending too much time
on the wants.

Slow down and enjoy life.
It's not only the scenery you miss
by going so fast -
you also miss the sense of
where you are going and why.
-Eddie Canter

Have a wonderful day!
Love, Twyla

Irmi Monday - Sweet Mother

Hello friends!
Today I am sharing one of my favorite Irmi lamps!

Isn't it cute?!
I love the sweet theme and the shade of pink is perfect!
I can just picture how cute the nursery was, that this
lamp must have been used in!

If you've never heard of Irmi before,
they created hand painted, wooden nursery items
from the 50's through the 70's.
Irmi also went by the names of
 Nursery Originals and Nursery Plastics.
They created lamps, switchplates, mobiles, plaques,
night lights and other wooden nursery items

A Tag, A Mini and New Craft Supplies

Hello friends!
I purchased a fun new paper line last week,
called Nostalgia, by My Mind's Eye.

I was immediately drawn to this paper because of the colors!
Then I saw the cute vintage style button cards
and new that I had to have it!

I made this mini album chunky by adding chipboard embellishments
like this bird that I found in Michaels dollar bin.

I also dyed seam binding with Tattered Rose Distress ink.
The color matched perfectly! I also love picking up a pack
of paper doilies in the cake decorating section at the craft store.

I also picked up some fun new paper lines that I am working with right now!
This super lovely line called, Fairy Belle, by Prima.

I also got this line called, Pretty Party, by Crate Paper.
I like the vintage girly style of this line and also that it is a birthday themed line which is so awesome!

Well, I'm headed to my craft room to play!

Have a wonderful day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday - House Tour

Hello dear friends!
A couple of weeks ago I shared some
pictures of barns that I had taken
around our state.  Well, I also love to
take pictures of some of our beautiful,
historic homes!

I travel all over the state.  I absolutely love
Missouri!  The beauty of the countryside is
breathtaking and we have beautiful towns.

My favorite places to visit are towns with a rich
history.  All of these homes were built in the
1800's.  I've kind of made it a goal to visit
every area of our great state and am marking
off the roads I travel on a map.

I love to read about the history of each town.  It
makes the visit more interesting!

We had the good fortune Sunday afternoon to
visit this home (below) during an open house.
It is a grand mansion that was built in 1875
and has 29 rooms!

This is a picture in the upstairs looking
toward the 'rose' room.  It is actually a
small library.  The floors throughout
were two-toned, walnut and oak.

This is the front drawing room bay
window.  Aren't those columns grand?
They had a rummage sale the week
before and it was still laying around.
Oh, how I'd love to move my stuff in!

One of our famous Missourians is
Mark Twain.  This is one of my
favorite quotes of his:

Twenty years from now you will
be more disappointed by the things
you didn't do than by the ones you
did do.  So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your
sails.  Explore. Dream. Discover.

I try to live that way.  I don't
want to regret the things that I
could have done, should
have done, or thought I
couldn't do.

Thank you for spending part
of your day with me!
Wishing you much happiness!
Love, Twyla

Irmi Monday - Clown Lamp

Hello friends!
A cute clown to share today for this Irmi Monday!
This is a lamp, hand painted in bright colors,
 made for a child's room.
I have several Irmi pieces decorating my craft room.
This one, is in front of my messy bulletin board.

If you've never heard of Irmi before,
they created hand painted, wooden nursery items
from the 50's through the 70's.
Irmi also went by the names of
 Nursery Originals and Nursery Plastics.
They created lamps, switchplates, mobiles, plaques,

Scrapin 9 to 5....

Hello friends!
Last week I shared a tag tutorial using October Afternoon's
9 to 5 paper, this week I am sharing a mini album made with it!

I just love this paper line!
Of course, I seem to love every line October Afternoon makes!
It's got such a cool retro vibe to it!
I've also never created with a work themed line
and that was a lot of fun!

I also like how versatile this paper is!
The colors would be great for Fall themed crafts!

I haven't seen this paper line at stores in my area yet,
and couldn't wait to get my hands on it,
so I ordered it from here on ebay.

I listed this album for sale here in my ebay shop!

I also created a layout this week using this paper.
I used a sketch provided by October Afternoon
for a sketch challenge.

Have a bright and cheery day, Lindsey
