This week I have been making yo yo's instead of dishcloths. I like to make things in multiples.
I just like looking at my collections of supplies because they inspire me.
You know that feeling in the pit of your stomach,

it bubbles up and you get giddy with excitement over what you are going to make next.

This week I wanted to direct your attention to the blog, Artkissed. Maryellen is a talented artist who has just moved into a new apartment. Her blog is inspiring and entertaining. Have a look!
Wishing you much happiness, Twyla

Note: We are posting these the night before so that all you early morning bloggers out there can see our post too. So please disregard the Monday title at the top of the screen!

Let's Party!

We are going to A Fanciful Twist 200th blog post party!
Check out her blog and sign up. It sounds like a lot of fun!

I'm goin' to Nashville

The first weekend in July I, (Lindsey) Will be going to Nashville, TN with my Aunt to see Ringo Starr in concert!

My Mom, my Aunt and I are really BIG Beatle fans!

I will have to share a few pictures of my collection sometime.

Back in 2005, the three of us went to Omaha, NE to see a Paul McCartney concert! It was awesome!

I was going to show you a couple pictures of us from that trip but after an hour of looking through my stacks of photos with no luck I have given up. I will try to find them and show you before we leave.

So If there are any Nashville bloggers or bloggers who have been to Nashville, let us know what we should see while were there!

Well here it is Barbie Wednesday! I will start with my oldest ones. This is a #3 ponytail Barbie. Unfortunately the girl who owned her cut off her ponytail. They made 6 different ponytail Barbies making little changes to their makeup and style each time.
I believe I bought her at a flea market a year or so ago. My collection of clothes have mostly come from lots on ebay and a few flea markets.

This is Barbie's original best friend Midge. She came in three different hairstyles. red, blonde and brunette. This was Barbie's school teacher dress.

This is the #2 Ken doll. The first had flocked hair and it rubbed of too easily so they created a painted hair version.

This is the first one with the flocked hair. I have noticed with all of the Ken dolls I own that they all have problems with their arms falling out of their sockets. I was wondering if any of you that own one have this problem too?

Aren't they quite a pair!

This is Barbie's Nurse outfit on a very well played with red haired Midge!

This is Barbie's Friday night out outfit. This is one of her more well known outfits used on Several other vintage Barbie products.

Unfortunately I don't own one of the original black and white striped bathing suits! Something I really must buy soon!

This is Ken's original doll case. You can see that the Barbie on the case is wearing the Friday night out dress.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a small part of my large collection, Lindsey

I am the silent partner in this blog. Not because I have nothing to say, but because I am not as computer savvy as Lindsey. We decided that I could share some of my thoughts by writing them down and taking some pictures and she can blog them. I tell her all the time that I don’t know what I would do without her and I truly don’t. She is such a help and comfort to me.

I have been somewhat obsessed with making dishcloths lately. They are so satisfying because they knit up so quickly and there you have it – a finished project!

I like to make little sets of them in matching colors. Lindsey likes to claim most of them and my son comes by and says, “What are you making for me?”

My life has not been the same since I discovered blogs. It has opened a whole new world in one small community. To say that I admire all the ladies on our favorite blogs list is definitely putting it mildly. Each week I would like to recommend a blog for you to check out and hopefully enjoy as much as I do. This week I would like to recommend “The Trunk with Dreams”, a French blog that is beautiful. I encourage you to go back through her archives. I sure wish I could go spend the week with her!

Wishing you much happiness, Twyla

Weekend fun

I hope everyone had a good weekend!
Ready for Monday? Me neither.

Michael's has a new display of Hello Kitty stuff so I got this cute plush kitty and several other little things.

We had another successful weekend of flea marketing. Here are some of my favorites.

I don't find doll clothes patterns much so I was excited to find such a sweet one. And the nightie pattern is so unique!

Love this little book. Such sweet graphics! What a hat!

I found this awesome little bag of wedding ephemera. I believe it is all from the same wedding. One of the wedding invitations says 1952.

I also found this apron. I love the oriental designs.

This is a wall hanging I made today.

We are hoping to one day have an etsy shop!
Anyone have any etsy advice? I am a little nervous about trying to get one set up.
Happy Sunday, Lindsey and Twyla
