I have a Christmas tag tutorial to share with you today.
I love printing vintage graphics and using them in my craft projects!
It's just a perfect way to mix new old together. I love it!
Isn't he adorable?! I found this little piece inside an old pop up Christmas book.
The first thing you'll do is print this image
out onto white cardstock and cut it out.
Now you'll need a tag base. You can use a manila tag or cut a tag from cardstock.
I am using the Ranger number 8 tag (available at your local craft store).
Now I am going to use Distress Inks to color my tag. If you haven't ever used Distress Inks (available at your local craft store), I highly recommend them! So many amazing and easy ways to use these inks to create fun techniques!

I am going to blend 3 colors together. So I started with Evergreen Bough and just lightly inked around the edges.
Then I added Peacock Feathers ink to make it darker.
For my third color, I used Iced Spruce. It just added a really soft and dark color around the edges.
Now I wanted to show you my finished tag base. I went back and blended in more of the first color.
Next I took white paint that I watered down slightly and
flicked it across the tag to create the look of snow.
After the paint dried I picked out papers to use for this. I decided on using the Bundled Up line by Crate Paper (available online or check your LSS). If you haven't seen this, I highly recommend it! So adorable and has a vintage feel to it.
I chose a pattern and cut it down to my tag size and ripped off both ends. I love the look of torn edges! I then inked the paper with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and adhered to the tag.
Next I took a small journaling card from the line, inked and adhere to the tag. You could use neutral patterned paper for this as well.
Now it's time to assemble the Santa and adhere him to the tag.
I adhered the shoes and pants first. Then I used foam pop dots to adhere the rest of the pieces to make him look more layered.
Now it's time to embellish the tag. For this part,
I started with a velvet Poinsettia that I found at Hobby Lobby.
Then I took seam binding ribbon and inked it with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.
I dried it with my heat tool and used it for the bow on my tag.
Next a decided to add a title for my tag. So I chose this glittery banner from the Bundled Up Ephemera pack to add. I used foam pop dots to adhere it.
Next I added a small present to Santa's hand (available at your local craft store).
To finish off my tag I added a little stamped sentiment to the bottom
and a little snowflake button from my stash.
Now it's done and ready to add to a card front, Package topper, scrapbook layout or hang on the tree.
