Twyla on Tuesday - Happy Valentine's Day!

Dear friends,
Happy Valentine's Day!
I thought today I would share with you some
favorite Valentine postcards from my collection.
This first one is my Very Favorite!

I love reading these antique words of endearment.
The affection and care for one another was very
evident in their writings.  I always like the postcards
that are written on best!  I have even bought postcards
for what was written on the back or the handwriting.

A holiday to celebrate love.
A day to tell others you care.
A sweet day.

I've always tried to make Valentine's Day
special for my children. They were remembering
just the other day some of the simple handmade
gifts that I made them for this holiday when they were little.
It really warms my heart that they remember
some of the those gifts even though they weren't
very expensive or artistic.

I hope each of you have a sweet day!
Have a very Happy Valentine's Day!
Love, Twyla

Valentine and a Vintage Style Mini Album

Hello friends!
I love it when I find a vintage valentine that's been silver embossed!
They are so cheery and always make me smile!

I picked up a paper pack at Hobby Lobby recently called,
Restoration by Crate Paper. It has a very cool flea market theme.

I thought it would make a lovely Family themed mini album.

The paper kit came with a die cut sheet and 2 sticker sheets!
Wow! That was a really great deal when you can use a 40% off coupon!

Another great thing about this paper line was the paper's texture.
It was thick and easy to distress.

It was also easy to find matching flowers and ribbon in my stash.
Love when that happens!!!

Thanks for stopping by today, Lindsey

Favorite Scrapbook Paper!

Hello friends!
It's no surprise that I love paper by October Afternoon.
Their cream based vintage paper lines always make me happy, but this line I want to show you today has got to be my favorite OA line ever!

It's called, Farmhouse.
Filled with lovely country and vintage antique patterns, yet so versitale for any themed project.

A whole sheet full of vintage button cards and grey gingham are some of my favorites along with a great sticker sheet!

I created a family themed paperbag mini album using this line.

This paper was so easy to work with.

I love the banner sheet of paper to cut out and use across the pages.

The vintage doily patterns are so cool!!!

I find myself wanting to hoard as much of this paper as I can!

I listed this album here on ebay.

Just space enough to say -
another vintage valentine today!

Wishing you a wonderful day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday - Pastel Pottery and Giveaway Winner

Hello ladies!
I want to thank everyone for your comments last
Tuesday concerning book suggestions for me!
I really appreciate your input!
I already have one coming that was suggested to me!

After the holiday season I have rearranged some
of my pottery.

I love all the creamy pastel colors!
Especially the aqua!

I like to layer them with some of the motto prints
that I collect.  Don't you just love these doggie
bookends?!

Such sweetness.
I have a hard time resisting them when
I run across them in antique and thrift stores.

This little vignette is just perfect for this time of year.
The colors make me think of spring and Easter.

Valentine Tag Tutorial

Hello friends!
A Valentine tag tutorial to share today!

I started with this sweet valentine that I printed on cardstock and cut.

I then gathered up a manila tag and some valentine paper scraps from Crape Paper's Paper Heart line.

I took a paint brush dipped in black paint and flicked paint across the tag.

Allow tag to air dry or use heat gun and then ink the edges.
I used Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

Then take a few paper scraps to arrange on your tag.

Adhere the valentine to the tag.
I then cut a lace doily pattern from My Mind's Eye Love Me paper line and adhered to the upper corner and added a little paper flower to the center.
I also added a banner sticker and Love sentiment onto the bottom paper strip of the tag.

I wrapped pink twine around the tag and tied off a bow across the lower half of the tag.

Add pink ribbon across the top of the tag to finish.
Simple and sweet!

Thank you for all the well wishes on teaching at my upcoming card class!
