Every now and then some one will ask me where do I store my Barbie's. I never have a really good answer to that. I don't have my entire collection in just one place.





I have them separated between my bedroom and my craft room. I used to keep them all together in the craft room but the space just wasn't big enough.





Now I have my most special items in my room. I have cases on my bookcase and a house on top of my dresser. Their are just boxes here, there, and everywhere!

But this is how it use to look a couple of years ago when it was all together in the craft room.

Since my favorite pieces to collect besides the dolls are the houses and cases, I have a much harder time finding room for it all. Let me tell you they take up a lot of room!!!!!

I hope and plan to some day have a whole room to devote to just my Barbie collection.

Until then I just enjoy and rotate my collection around as much as I can so that I can see it all!

I am really lucky to have the collection that I do! I enjoy it and I enjoy sharing it with everyone here on our blog.

If you can believe it, I think I am running out of things to show you as far as my own personal collection. It's been almost a year now that I have been showing off my collection. On June 10, it will be one year!

Not that I am saying I will stop doing Barbie Wednesday but it is starting to become a struggle with remembering what is left that I haven't shown!

Someday I want my room to look like this! I can't imagine having a collection that looks like this but you never know! I just love how this display looks. It takes your breath away right? :)

This Mother's Day was sweet. Just me and my kids spending the day together at Silver Dollar City. Hubby is stuck at home right now because he is recuperating from a torn achilles tendon. Before we left I was treated to some lovely gifts. Lindsey made me this beautiful scrapbook that spells out my name.

It is just awaiting the pictures. She says that anyone can create an album by spelling out any name or word you want. They have all the letters in all sizes at the Scrap Nook. She really customized this book to my taste. Blue is my favorite color.

I also got some lovely plants. Isn't this begonia gorgeous?

This succulant is one of the prettiest I've ever seen and I think maybe even I can keep it alive. Jordan also got me a pretty african violet.

Lindsey really surprised me with this adorable planter. Isn't it precious?

It is hard these days to get in the treasure hunting because Lindsey now works sometimes on Saturdays. She didn't have to be there until 2:00 last weekend so we managed to get in a couple of antique stores.

This little planter was a favorite find and I'm always on the lookout for tea trivets. This one is hand painted and was made by Lefton.

I haven't shown many things that I've been making lately. One of the reasons is that it's been so rainy it's hard to get good pictures. I am going to devote a post soon to some of the things I've been making.

I found a pattern for this little fellow and my son wanted me to make one. His name is Rudy the Rectangle. He was really easy. I didn't even use the pattern except to see how big to make him.

Happy Mother's Day!

First off we want to wish all Mothers a Happy Mother's Day!!!! I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

I have been very busy and very HAPPY these past couple of weeks! Why you ask? My new JOB!!!! :)

As many of you have already read, I now work at The Scrap Nook in Springfield, MO. I am so in my element there! I love getting to stock paper and rearranging displays and of course having a discount! Hehe!

But the best part is getting to meet such awesome people!

I was in the store on my day off and as I was standing in line another customer came in and was walking around shopping. One of my co-workers went over to her to ask her if she needed any help. I wasn't paying any attention to them until I heard the customer say, " Twyla and Lindsey". I perked up and they were pointing at me and I walked over to this woman and I said that I was Lindsey. She looked at me and said, "I LOVE YOUR BLOG!" She was so sweet! I had such a great time talking to her! She lives about an hour and a half away so when she came to visit her Son, she wanted to find The Scrap Nook and come see me!

What luck that I would just happen to be in the store in the same 5 minute time span that she came!

I recently bought myself a Cricut Expression cutting machine. It is the ultimate tool for a scrapbooker! I have wanted one for a long time now and I decided that having a job at a Scrapbook store was a good enough excuse to finally get one! It is really awesome! I feel like there is a whole new world of crafting open to me now with having this!

This is a sweet doggy figure I found last weekend at a flea market. I love his sweet little eyes!

Barbie Wednesday

Here is my newest Barbie find! A 1967 Stacey case!
It is in lovely psychedelic swirls and colors!

Stacey was Barbie's British friend. She came out from 1967 to 1971.

When I see Stacey dolls for sale, I usually find the Talking Stacey. Like all of the talking dolls she had a string on the back and when you pulled it she would say things like, "Let's drink tea with Barbie."

Dylan's Candy Co. created a line of Barbie chocolate's and candy in honor of Barbie's 50th birthday.

Here are chocolate bars.

These are fruity candies.

And, of course, everyone could use chocolate shoes when they have that craving for chocolate!

This Sunday we celebrate someone who is very close to our hearts, our mothers. The memories of our mother's love and the traditions that we have developed over the years will blend to create another special day to honor the one person we owe so much.

I have collected these framed poems that hold such vintage charm. There are several themes for these sentiments, but the most common ones are 'Mother'.

I always look for these when I go to flea markets and antique malls. They are usually inexpensive.

One of the things I like about them are the frames themselves. Old, wooden, usually kind of loose at the corners and the print held in by nails. Why is it that these old things seem so familiar? I think it reminds me of my grandma's house.

I found this unusual mother's day wallpocket, which is another of my favorite collectibles.

This is my favorite picture of my mother and me when I was a baby. It was taken at my grandparents house which my grandfather built himself. We lived with them until I was 18 months old because my dad was in Korea. I had a very loving beginning here. I still have so many memories of this house.

This weekend I couldn't resist picking up this sweet little planter. It will go with my ever growing collection.

Remember my blue Fire King bowls from last week's post? I think I am having some kind of a lucky spell lately because I found this set of Harvest Ballerina refrigerator bowls very inexpensively. They were all bought seperately.

I discovered the small one first for just $4. I knew there was a big one because I'd seen it at another flea market. The hunt was on. My reward, all three for just $16.

My mother likes to go to garage sales, although she can't do it as much as she used to. I may have gotten that from her. She says things like, "I don't have room for it" or "I don't need it." I Didn't get that from her. The many things that we learn and inherite from our mothers make us the people we are today. Being a mother is the most important thing in my life and I am so lucky that I have two of the best kids ever!
