Vintage Themed Baby Album

Hello friends!
I really really love this new paper!
It's Graphic 45's Little Darlings line,

The colors and sweet vintage patterns make my heart go pity pat!

It was so fun to cut out the adorable graphics from this line to make my own embellishments!

I would definitely rate this paper line in my top 5 favorite lines ever!

It was so easy to scrap with!
I also added a couple pages from antique baby book that I printed out to fit the album!

The colors from this paper line would also be great for Spring themed projects!

It is so fun and satisfying to create these mini albums! I love the process of designing each page and putting them all together!
What feeds your creative soul?

I listed this album on ebay here.

Wishing you a beautiful day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday - Art Journaling

Hello ladies!
Inspired by all the journaling I'm seeing on some blogs,
I bought myself a sketch pad from Wal Mart
and have been using it as an art journal.
I am finding it very therapeutic.

The hardest part is giving yourself the permission to
make a mark on the paper.  Just go for it.  If you don't
like it, tear it out and start again!
I haven't used anything more than markers and ink pads,
scrapbook paper and glue sticks.

There are no rules!  I chose the quotes as the inspiration
for these two pages.  It's a great place to start.
Even if you don't like your handwriting, it's okay because
your writing is very personal and uniquely You!

The one below was done using only colored Sharpies.
I just picked up one and started swirling!
It's a very freeing craft.
Someday I'd like to use some paint and get more creative.

I hope that you have found a satisfying way to enjoy
your creativity.

'There is only one of you in all time,
this expression is unique.
And if you block it, it will never exist through
any other medium and it will be lost.'
-Martha Graham-

Wishing you much happiness!
Love, Twyla

Matryoshka Nesting Dolls

Hello friends!
While shopping at TJ Maxx recently we spotted this adorable white
matryoshka doll. But, it's not a normal matryoshka......

It's a measuring cup set!
 Isn't that a cute idea?!
I really thought they were adorable,
but didn't know if I was going to get them,
but then I spotted....

Matching measuring spoons!!
I knew then that I had to bring them home!
I have looked at the company's website and discovered
that there are other matching kitchen pieces!
The package says, it's the kitchen accesory you'll be 'rushin' to use'!

If you like them too, you can find them for sale on Amazon.

Have a wonderful day, Lindsey

Scrapping a Mini Book

Hello friends!
I've been scrapping this week using a lovely
new paper line called, Miss Caroline by My Mind's Eye.

This line was filled with cool wood grain patterns and florals.
I purchased the 6 inch paper pad to create a paper bag album.

I loved the layered look of these patterns!
The flowers and dolies make me think of Spring and how ready I am for everything to bloom and bring sunny days!

I love how kraft cardstock coordinates well with
any paper and always has a nice vintage feel.

Wishing you a beautiful day, Lindsey

Road Trip

Hello friends!
I have always dreamed of visiting the scrapbook store chain called, Archivers. Unfortunately we don't have one in our city,
but there is one 3 hours away in Kansas City, MO.
Yep, we are definitely two crazy crafters! We headed out last Saturday and picked up lots of fun and inspiring new supplies!

I had no idea what to expect, but I was thrilled with their variety of new paper lines and some old favorites!

One of the new lines I picked up was this one called, This and That by Echo Park.
A very sweet paper line that comes in a girl and boy version with vintage patterns.
The girl version was filled with our favorite color combonation of red and pink!!

I also picked up a couple fun 8x8 paper pads. The first one is a new Graphic 45 line! Very different and unique! I also picked up this travel themed line by October Afternoon.
I can't wait to make mini albums with these pretty lines!

My biggest thrill was spotting this Graphic 45 line called, Little Darlings.
A beautiful antique baby line which is so dreamy I am definitely putting it in my top 5 favorite paper lines ever! Now the hard part is cutting into it!!!!

We look forward to sharing with you
what we create with our fun new goodies!

Have you ever been to Archivers?

Have a lovely day, Lindsey

Twyla on Tuesday - Weekend Adventure

Hi lovely friends!
I had a little weekend antiquing adventure.
I love driving to out of the way places I've never been
before and discovering little antique shops.
I found this adorable scotty planter at one such spot.

So much fun looking around a new store not knowing what
treasure might lie in the next booth!
I knew the minute I saw this creamy pink vase it was
going to be mine.  It was also nice that this small
town shop had extremely reasonable prices!

I have been wanting to display some of my stamps so I
cleared this bookcase shelf in my little studio to do so.
It helps so much when you're trying to be creative if you
have things where you can find them.  Doesn't always happen
but so helpful when it does!

Remember the striped afghan I showed you last week?
This is how it's progressing.  I am growing quite fond of it.
I usually give most of my afghans away or put them in our
etsy shop, but I think I'm going to keep this one myself.
It's my happy blanket.

On our weekend antiquing trip we discovered another
treasure quite unexpectedly.  I knew Missouri had a few covered
bridges left, but had never seen one.  I spotted a historical sign
and quickly set off in discovery.  It was built in 1871.  No longer in
use and in poor condition, it was still beautiful to me.
Just one of those treasures that I carried home in my heart.

I do love hitting the open road and seeing places I've
never been before.  Looking for adventure in whatever comes
my way.  He, he, not exactly born to be wild, but you know
what I mean.
Have yourself a little adventure today!
Love, Twyla

Collecting Irmi - Nursery Lamp

Hello friends!
I love collecting these sweet vintage wooden nursery items by Irmi!
Today I am sharing my most recent Irmi piece.

This sweet lamp. Can you guess the theme?

Yep, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater!
Doesn't look much like a pumpkin, but it's super cute! I love the soft colors and painted vines!

My Brother brought this one home to me a couple weeks ago.
Wasn't that sweet?!

Wishing you a lovely day, Lindsey

Stay Curious..... and a Peak At My Next Class

Hello friends!
I really enjoy inking and distressing
with all the wonderful products by Tim Holtz.
The colors and grungy style inspires me as well
as all the wonderful techniques I have learned!
Tim's second volume of his book, A Compendium of Curiosities,
just came out and I had to have it!
It's filled with cool techniques and ideas to inspire!

I purchased both my copies of Compendium of Curiosities from Tim's blog
so that I could get them autographed!

I also wanted to show you the next card and tag I will be teaching this month, as part of Scrapbook Generation's Card Party class!
I am having so much fun designing vintage style cards!
If you live in the Southwest Missouri area, and want to come,
 you can contact SG here.

I wish you a beautiful day, Lindsey
