Hello friends!

I just can't get enough of this cute paper!

It's October Afternoon's 5 and Dime line.

It's so retro and vintage and oh so me!

I also mixed in October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker paper line, too.

 That's one of my favorite things about OA,

that you can mix and match patterns together using all their lines.

I also added in a few die cuts from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe line,

such as the cute little girl in the photo below.

I several printed images from my own personal card stash using heavy cardstock.

This sweet vintage girl below is from a sewing pattern.

I made this book by cutting chipboard to 6x6 and then using my Cinch binding machine

to punch the holes and bind the wire.

Making mini albums are such a satisfying project.

 It took me a couple days to complete and they make great gifts.

Sparklers and Firecrackers

Hello friends!

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello dear friends!

There has been a project that I have

been wanting to get done for quite awhile.

I had an old cupboard that my dad bought at an

auction and I ended up with.  It has been in our family room

for the last ten years, but not being used to it's potential.

I had a dream of putting it in a corner of our living room

to hold some of my vintage pottery.

Three determined people and those miraculous furniture sliders

managed to move this very heavy and tall piece.

I am so very happy with the results and think my

pottery looks so nice displayed here.

I have a weakness for aqua and pink McCoy.

There is also a mixture of other pottery also.

My Creative Space

Hello friends!
This week in my Creative Space I was looking through my October Afternoon stickers
and found one that said, 'This is my favorite place to be'. 

I thought it would be perfect on a mini canvas, and here is how it turned out.
Wouldn't it be cute sitting on a computer desk or on a craft table?

Using October Afternoon's fun 5 and Dime line, I created this journal.

It's titled, My Story. I love the retro feel that this line always brings to my projects!

This journal I created using My Mind's Eye paper, Tim Holtz's Birdcage die and glitter

 to add lots of dimension to the cover.

It's titled, Spread Your Wings and Fly.

Born In The USA

Hello friends!

ATC's, or Artist Trading Cards are such an easy, fun and quick little project!

I created this fun Antique styled patriotic ATC last night.

When we discovered that our local Michael's and Hobby Lobby carried these great packs of ATC's in differing textures and weights, we were excited and inspired!

Below, starting on your left, is Chalkstock ATC'S which have a chalkboard coating. I thought it would be fun to try something different by playing with my chalk. You can find these in the scrapbooking department at Hobby Lobby. The Acrylic ATC's are very thick and make a great base whether you are using paint or paper. You can find them both at Hobby Lobby and Michael's in the art department.

You can also pick up a pack of 25 basic ATC cards for crafting, also in the scrapbooking section at Hobby Lobby.

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello Ladies!

You may remember my telling you about our trip
through the art department at Hobby Lobby, well,
I have been smitten by these little bottles
of magic!
They are little bottles of glitter and beads that are just magical to me!
They come in sets of three, color coordinated and inexpensive
when purchased with my coupons!
I don't think I have the heart to open them!
They inspire me just the way they are!

I have put them in my sun room studio where I have been painting.

I am having so much fun painting and creating in a different medium.

This is a mixed media canvas that I did the other day.

I am not especially good at it yet, but it is very soul satisfying.

 

 

My wrists have been a little sore from all the crocheting and I

needed to give that a rest for awhile.  I am still knitting in the evenings

though!

I found this pretty blue vase at an antique mall Sunday.

Muffin is my companion when I sit in the sunroom.

No matter how hot it is in there, he loves sitting in the sun.

He is good company and doesn't critique my little paintings.

Pink Saturday Shadowbox

Hello friends!

I altered a shadowbox this week with a vintage girl theme.

The shadowbox was a thrift store find and

I used October Afternoon's 5 and Dime line.

I also added sweet vintage elements like this little Irmi figure.

This was such a fun project. I enjoyed gathering the goodies to put together!

 The cute mini wooden spools can be found at your local craft store in the wood section.

The sweet Home Sweet Home chipboard embellishment is from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker line.

My Creative Space: Craft Projects

Hello friends!

At Michael's craft store you can find 8 x 8 canvases. When they were on sale a couple weeks ago, I picked one up to alter.

I enjoyed working with this size! I used October Afternoon's 5 and Dime line to create my art piece.

I first painted around the edges with pink paint

and then distressed the edges of the paper so the pink would show around the sides.

I'm also still playing with Cosmo Cricket's Odds and Ends paper line.

I created a new journal using this lovely line. A mini rose and blue polka dot pattern is one of my favorites from the line.

The inside cover also features a fun sampler pattern paper.

Capture The Moments

Hello friends!

Yep, I made another mini canvas!

I couldn't resist making more of these sweet little mini's!

 

For this one I used Cosmo Cricket's new Odds and Ends line.

I added dyed seam binding using Antique Linen Distress Ink.

This canvas is listed here in my etsy shop.

 

This fun little tag, I made a couple of weeks ago.

I used a sweet little chipboard squirrel from Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness line.
