CRAFT ROOM REVEAL

Welcome, dear friends!
It is our pleasure to invite you into

our new craft room!

Maybe you can see why it took us so long when you see

how much stuff we have!

At times it felt like working a puzzle, getting every piece in just the right spot.

The room used to be used for storage and was full of Christmas trees, holiday

decorations and furniture that was no longer used.  We had a dream to turn it

into our fantasy craft room and it was no small task!

Now, it is our vintage inspirational oasis!

There are all kinds of crafting represented in this room.  You may notice

the two sewing machine cases in the above photo and this lovely box of fat quarters.

We have yet to do any sewing, but we're ready should the mood strike!

The infamous 'Elizabeth' cabinets.  We were so lucky to find these

in an antique store.  They are cute as can be!

Lindsey found this wonderful set of dressers at a fun antique store that specializes

in items from the '30's to the '70's.  It is by Childcraft and we loved the colored drawers!

They are so perfect to hold scrapbooking supplies.

These little pink windows were so sweet, we wanted them to be

a focal point in the room.  The chalk board says 'Two Crazy Crafters'.

Of course, Lindsey made the 'autumn' banner.

Another angle of our room shows the two wall colors. 

I shared in an earlier post the exact colors we chose and we couldn't be happier

with it!

This picture shows some of Lindsey's Irmi collection.

Don't worry, she'll be sharing them closer up in more detail in a later post!

Here is Pink Puppy watching over us.  Love the way he looks

on top of Lindsey's cubes.  Don't you love the pretty paper lanterns she made?!

Lindsey gradually collected this wall of cubes from Micheal's when they were either

on sale or she had a 40% off coupon.  It took her awhile to collect them and then bang them

together.  If you have these too, you know what I mean.

This is just some of the vintage whimsy that we threw in to inspire us.

Sitting pretties as well as supplies.

Lindsey is a huge Tim Holtz fan.  She has many of his products, but one of the

first things we bought was his wonderful Distress Inks.

Just look at all the great colors!

We got the paper rack at a scrapbook store that was going out of business. 

You'd think with all those drawers and all those cubes, Lindsey wouldn't need

paper racks, too.  Wouldn't you?!

Barbie Wednesday

Hello friends!

I love finding interesting facts about Barbie! I thought I would share a few of these interesting thoughts with you!

During the first year of her introduction in 1959, 351,000 Barbie dolls were sold.

It is so interesting to read about the fictional life created for Barbie and her friends and family.

Barbie's parents are George and Margaret Roberts. George served as a pilot in the Navy.

The military series of Barbie dolls, Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps went through approvals by the Pentagon to ensure the most realistic costumes.

In Sweden, more Barbie dolls have been sold than the country's current population. In 1980, in India, Barbie cost 236 rupees which is $18.00 US dollars which was equivalent to an average Indian's entire months salary.

In 2007 the average 3- to 10-year-old girl in the U.S. owned eight Barbies.

I have shown photos of the new vintage series of the Wizard of Oz Barbies but I wanted to show you how cute the boxes are! I truly can't wait to add these cuties to my collection!

Hello dear friends!

I am so happy to say that the work on the craft room is

almost done!



There will be a grand reveal this Friday!

It feels so good to finally be able to say we can share

our room with you!

Some of my treasures and trinkets close up!

I can't tell you how hard it was to hang these lanterns!

I worked at it much longer than I should have. 

We found a package of vintage Oriental lanterns at

an antique mall and thought they'd add a lot of whimsy

to our craft room.

We've had such a busy time the last two weeks with our craft room redo,

(which messed up the whole house) and visiting family from Wisconsin.

It is like a breath of fresh air to step into our space and feel the

inspiration of all the pretty colors and vintage sweetness.

Totally unaffected by all that is going on, Barney has time to sit and watch

while mom and Lindsey work endlessly. 

I guess anyone as pretty as him should just sit and look pretty anyway.

Okay!  Mark your calendars!  Tie a string around your finger!

The craft room reveal is this Friday, Oct. 8th!

A Modern Homemaker

Hello friends!

Now that my wonderful month of guest designing is over for October Afternoon, I want to share all of my creations with you all here too!

This is a layout I created with their amazing Modern Homemaker collection.

When I received paper for this I didn't have any of the cute embellishments to go along with the lovely paper. I had fun taking stickers and rub ons from past October Afternoon collections as they all coordinate so well with each other. I can't wait though to get my hands on their beautiful retro housewife embellishments!

I know this will be a collection I will continue to use for years!

I was very lucky to have my Mom create lovely crocheted accessories for my layout! Including this rose and aqua doily. She also crocheted along the edge of my paper creating a lovely scalloped border!

I want to thank you for all of your kind words throughout the month of September regarding my guest design work. I appreciated all your sweet and thoughtful words more than you all know!

Barbie Wednesday and a Giveaway!!

Hello Friends!

As I organize my Barbie collection, I have come upon a few dolls that I forgot I had!

Such as this Anniversary Barbie Gift Set from 1993.

The gift set came with a reproduction of the 1959 Ponytail Barbie and 2 reproduction outfits. This one is called "Roman Holiday".

This dress is called "Apple Print Sheath".

I recently found this adorable set at a flea market! Kelly and Tommy dolls as Alice and the Mad Hatter!

Here is the October Afternoon giveaway! A paper bag book set! Since I had the honor of being their Guest Designer for the month of September, I wanted this giveaway to feature their paper!

Hello dear friends!

I am really embarrassed to once again tell you

that the work on our craftroom continues.  We don't

mean to be a tease.  Honest!  It is a huge undertaking

because we have too much stuff!

There are a few surfaces that are getting resolved, but there are many more

surfaces that are covered with - a Mess!  We even have two sewing

machines that are going to have to find homes.  Good luck to us!

I will tell you the paint colors we chose though! 

We put a lot of thought into the paint we would use because

of the wall surface we had to cover.  We didn't want to have to prime

and we didn't want to have to put on two coats.  So we purchased Valspar Hi Def

for superb coverage.   One coat did the room!

The majority of the room is painted this pretty blue called

Cincinnatian Hotel Abbey.

It's a nice cross between aqua and baby blue.

This pink we put in one corner of the room is called

Rose Buff.  It's a lovely antique pink.

We are extremely happy with the colors we chose. 

This particular paint also dries fast and is low odor.

We highly recommend it!

We keep showing snippets of this cabinet.  It was quite

a shock when we went into an antique store and found the same cabinets as

Elizabeth's craft cabinet.  We have the two side cupboards but not the center.

We had to have them!  They are long and we had to bring them home

one at a time in my old car.  Another reason we are two crazy crafters.

Please be patient with us, there will be a proper unveiling soon.

We just want it to look nice when we let you in.

Craft Room Progress?

Hi All!

Wish we could say we were almost done with our redo, but

sad to say, there is still much to do.

All these pretty bits and bobs to put away.
Problem is, the room was used as storage so much has to be reconciled

before we get it in the condition in our vision. 

We don't want Christmas tree boxes and other household duldrums

messing up our creative space!

We continue to work with the hope of having it ready for a

reveal soon.  Please be patient with us.

Oh, how I look forward to sitting down and making something with all

this pretty yarn!

We sre still super busy working on our craft room redo here at Two Crazy Crafters! My Barbie collection is also located in our craft room, so it's getting a redo too!!! Yay!

So everything is in stacks as we work on geting everything together!

Hello dear friends!

A lot is shaking here at Two Crazy Crafters!

We have been working Very Very hard to totally remodel our craft room!

It isn't near ready yet, oh yes, there is still much to be done,

but we thought we would show you a few little sneak peaks at what is

going on.

There will be a few surprises, wink wink, and a few things you've seen before.

We've painted, can you guess what colors?  We discovered we don't really like painting.  We lack experience (refuse to follow directions) in that area.  Our backs and arms ache, but

we are rejuvenated by our progress.  We really can't wait to share it with everyone!

Yes, Pink Puppy resides over the room as mascot, thanks Meri!

Much of the room is devoted to paper crafts and my favorite, the yarn area!

The only problem is we haven't had any time at all to craft :(

Can't wait to get it all done and then we can sit back and create!

We will announce the Grand Debut in a few days so keep watching!
