This awesome vintage Halloween swap is hosted by the wonderful Heidi of Foxgloves Fabric and Folly! I am so excited to be in this swap! If you missed out on the Sweet and Sinister swap then this is a must! And there aren't any color restrictions with this swap either.
And we all love the look vintage Halloween!

You will have till Monday, August 25th to leave her a comment, letting her know you would like to participate....Please make sure you add your e-mail address to your comment so she can get in touch with you.....As soon as you sign up, she will be sending you each a tiny "Halloween Favor" for signing up....a small assortment of darling Halloween tags...courtesy of Holly at "mommyholly.etsy.com"..... she's also added a "button" to the right side of her blog, that you can add to your own blogs....Please help her spread the word! After she has all the participants, she will pair you up with a partner,..... e-mailing you to let you know who it is & their specifics.

As for what to send your lucky partner?....she think something with a "vintage feel" would be lovely! she knows she always covets the darling Halloween items that look like pieces from years ago! It can be one thing or a grouping of little Halloween surprises....but should not exceed $20-$30. You are all a creative group out there!!...you could make something wonderful or purchase your gift!....Either way, please make sure & put a bit of thought in the presentation!...wrap in sweet paper, add a little ribbon, write a wee card!...make it something you would LOVE to receive!!!
And the last thing...You will be responsible to make sure & have your "Halloween" swap box in the mail & sent to your partner by Monday, September 22nd. That way we all will have our suprises in time to set out & use during the month of October.....Also she thought we might all enjoy seeing what each other received, so on Wednesday, October 1st, lets all post about this swap, showing all our "gifts"!!!.....she will add a list of all the participants & their partners & we can go down the list visiting each other! What a great way to kick off October!

Saturday fun

We're having a crazy crafting weekend but I thought I would pop in and show a few of my latest vintage birthday cards!

This week I wanted to show you a special piece in my collection. A vintage Barbie box. I don't know what doll came with it as they all had this same box for the first few years.

I love that it still has th original price tage on it! Shuggs Drug Store for $2.39.





It has seen much better days though. I bought it at a flea market several years ago for only fifteen dollars.

I love the design of the boxes! Those drawings are so cute!


The Barbie logo has changed several times over the years but the original one was the most lovely. A couple years ago they started using it again and still use it on some of the more collectible Barbie's.

Now this ad really dates itself! Swinging! I love it!

As you may know, my favorite place to craft is in my sunroom and I have been showing you corners of my sunroom in several of my last posts. Here is a picture of my wicker chair (from a garage sale) with the very pretty new pillow I got at a flea market on my birthday. Looks like a lovely spot doesn’t it? Well, the thermometer in my sunroom says it is 112 degrees, but I am sure the heat index is higher. I am unable to enjoy my little sunroom this week.

Spencer keeps cool by laying on the vent. I think that’s pretty smart.

I have been collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments since the late 1970’s. I love them dearly and enjoy when family and friends add to my collection every year. One of my favorite series is the Frosty Friends series that started in 1980. The first one I got was in 1983 and have most of them ever since. I did manage to find a 1982, but the first in the series, 1980’s A Cool Yule, is one of the rarest of all and worth, according to the collector guide, $600. Every year when my BFF, Susan helps decorate our tree I always point out that I have almost all of them but the very first one. ( A little hinting never hurts. ) Well, you remember the shocked look on my face in last Tuesday’s post of me opening a birthday present? Guess what was in that box?


Yep, she did it! Got on ebay and found a good (I sincerely hope) deal on one that was in good shape, just no box. She is a good friend.


This is a picture of our collection of little baby planters. We like to use them to hold craft supplies and they just look so cute. We love the pastel colors and the ’vintage-ness’ of them.

I have been working on some granny square projects lately. I made this granny square afghan in the early 1990’s thinking that it would be the last one I ever made. I thought at that time I would never have that much left over yarn again. What was I thinking?

I am ‘into’ them again. The potholders I made for our etsy is what started it and now I’m granny crazy.

I’m working on a doll blanket in pretty, vintagie colors.

Gosh, I’ve met so many wonderful ladies in blogland this last week, I am having a hard time recommending just one. I guess because she posts so often and is really a go –getter, I am going to recommend Bittersweet and the Little Soap Company. Jill is such a sweet lady. Love her spirit.

Another week has come and gone and along with it another fun Saturday of flea marketing!
I hit the vintage card jackpot again this week!

I also found these two vintage baby books. The one in it's original box is from 1939!

I found this set of vintage doilies still in their package from 1954! I believe there is at least 30 of them!

I never have much luck finding vintage wallpaper but I did manage to find this small roll of vintage rose contact paper!

I love these two patterns! I can find the Barbie patterns occasionally but never a Ken and Francie!

We also picked up the newest issue of Artful Blogging and Somerset Home!

I made this set of tags last weekend using images from a vintage Alice in Wonderland golden book.

With this set of tags I used pictures from a vintage baby book.

I love Mom's crochet coasters! I have a pretty set of two in pink and mint green.

We also stopped by the Quilt shop on our way to the flea markets and I fell in love with the new Halloween fabrics! Here are a few that I got.

We also couldn't resist this adorable vintage styled kitty fabric!

This is my dress form. It's not vintage or custom made but I love it. My Brother bought it for me for Christmas a couple years ago.

I didn't have much on it but a few necklaces and belts untill last year when my sweet Brother bought me something extra special to put on it. This vintage Christian Dior pink robe!

Dior is my favorite brand! I will have to share photos of my Dior makeup collection sometime!

While I keep the Dior robe on my form most of the time I wanted to show you this other vintage robe I recently put on my dress form. I found this beauty at a flea market a couple weeks ago. I just love the big pink buttons!

As far as a name goes I guess what pops into my head is Nellie in her nightie. Seems to fit!

I found this cute little wicker form a few weeks ago. Love it! I think I will spray paint it though!

On it is Mom's (Twyla) beautiful fifties bed jacket. I was so jealous when she came home with it a couple weeks ago! It was also a sweet gift from my Brother!

I have yet to come up with a name for it so if you have any ideas I am open to suggestions!
