This is my 4th week to post a blog on Twyla Tuesdays. So far I have not been real wordy. I was not born with the ‘gift of gab’. I realized that one of the things I enjoy when reading other blogs is getting to know the blogger and hearing what their daily lives are like and their adventures. I will attempt to let you in my little world on this post.

I have two great kids, one you know, Lindsey, my inspiration and companion that I don’t know what I would do without, the other my son, Jordan.

He is very special, treats me like a queen. I don’t know how I got so lucky.

I have three dogs Muffin, Spencer

and Buffy (who now lives in heaven).

Oh, I also have a husband that I have been married to for 29 years! I can’t forget him! He works at the post office.

I have one best friend(BFF for all you texters), her name is Susan and it is our job to spoil her.

We did this even before she was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 1/2 years ago. I am very happy to say that she is now cancer free! Friday nights belong to her. She comes over and we eat what she wants, watches what she wants, paint her toenails, straighten her hair and give her massages!

I grew up with her and neither of us had sisters so we have always considered each other sisters and my kids call her their aunt.

I hope I haven’t bored you all too much and you didn’t stop reading after the part where I said “I have two great kids . . . and you started skimming to see if I posted any pretty pictures.

I found an absolutely amazing blog this week called Knot Garden. I am sure she is my long lost sister and we were separated at birth. She makes the most beautiful quilts (which I can’t), her knitting and crocheting are sooooo pretty. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.

Wishing you much happiness! Twyla

A fairy crashed our tea party!
Here she is sipping our tea!
She ate these with our tea. Chocolate covered marshmallow cookies with cherries on top!
This is her magic wand.

She really enjoyed the tea!

Swap goodies

Mom got her parasol and paper swap goodies from Sherry today.

I was so excited watching her open it up and there was something for me! A cute little Barbie banner! With my name on it! Thank you so much Sherry! I love it!

Such cute cards and tags!

Thank you so much Sherry!

Happy Wednesday, Lindsey and Twyla

Can you believe it's that time again? The weeks sure do fly!
This is my Bubble Cut Barbie. I saved up my own money to buy her at a flea market several years ago.
This was one of Mom's original dresses for her Barbie's.
Sometime during my destructive younger years we lost the original pink dress that went underneath. This one is from a newer Barbie.

This is one of the original Barbie cases from 1961.

One of Barbie's more cheaper outfits. It has the barbie label on the inside. If it hadn't had that I would have thought it was handmade.

This was Barbie's barbecuing apron. Cute but almost didn't fit over Barbie's hairdo.

Were almost there! I can smell the flea market bargains already, Lindsey

Nostalgia

nos-tal-gi-a: A wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one's life,

to one's home or homeland, or to one's family and friends;

a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time.

What makes you feel nostalgic? For me it's blue gingham and my little red rocking chair.

This week I would like to recommend one of my new favorite blogs Sweet Sage Vintage. Her pictures are gorgeous and she is a very special person as you will see if you check out her archives.

Wishing you much happiness! Twyla

Hello, What a crazy couple days it's been weather wise here! Lots of storms. I did get a few pictures taken earlier this week of my flea market finds.

This is a vintage pirate tablecloth. Such sweet little graphics. Has a few holes in it but I had to have it any way.

I found this cute little bag of ballerinas. Love them! I have seen so many ways you crafty bloggers use them that I just had to get some too!

Pinwheels! Found these in a flea market booth. They were stuck in all different places so I went around and grabbed them all!

I love buttons! Especially vintage buttons! So happy to find this little bags full of them.
My newest vintage cards. Love the little one!
We were in one of our favorite flea markets Saturday and hadn't even gotten through the first booth when the lady that I believe owns the flea market came up to me and said that she had seen these two vintage valentines come in and knew how much I liked valentines so she saved them back for me! How lucky am I? Back before Valentines day I bought about two hundred valentines at that flea market all individually priced and each one had to have it's sticker removed. I don't think she really liked us that much then but ever since she has always been so friendly with us! I hope she finds more for me!

Also got this cute kitty shelf liner paper too! Never opened!

Hang in there! The weekend's almost here, Lindsey

It's that time again. Here is another piece from my collection. This was Barbie's first house. It was called Barbie's dream house. Made in 1962. I got mine on ebay several years ago and after getting it out to take pictures I see that it's in rough shape. I need to search for a new one.
Barbie's jacket is from the resort set (1962) and the Barbie print blouse is from the fun at the fair set.(1965)
This Skipper I bought on ebay a few years ago.
The auction I won was actually for a brunette Skipper with a yellow case and little bath accessories. What I got was a blonde Skipper with a blue case and several Skipper outfits. Accept for wanting my Skipper doll to be brunette, I love all the clothes I got. The one she's wearing is called Land and Sea. (1965)
This is Midge's boyfriend Allen. He was named after Barbie's (the creator's daughter) real husband.
This was Barbie's collection of record albums.
Did you know that Barbie's full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts? Named after the creator Ruth Handler's daughter.

Love the funky table lamp on the stereo!

Hope you enjoyed looking!

Happy Wednesday, Lindsey
