Summer Afghan Debut

 

Hello friends!

I am happy to debut my Summer Afghan today!

It was a pleasure to work on.

The colors just made me happy!

 

 

I apologize for a photo heavy post!

 

It is so hard to photograph yarn and have

it show it's true colors.

 



 

I was inspired by the Cath Kidston palette.

 

 

I included a gray stripe simply because

I love gray so much and thought it would

complement the other colors.

 

 

I am willing to sell this afghan if anyone is

This isn't a great picture, but I think

you can see all the pretty colors!

Exciting News to share!!!

 

Hello dear friends!

I have some very exciting news to share with you!

I now have a monthly card kit club!

Well, I should first start by saying I think have the best job ever! I get to work at Scrapbook Generation, a scrapbook store.  We have several popular monthly clubs and I'm now taking over the generation card club. The best part about the clubs? We ship!!

We're also in the process of expanding into a full online store.

 

I've been teaching card classes locally for quite awhile now and am thrilled to now be able to offer kits that we can ship all over the world!!!

This is a monthly club that I put together and ship at the beginning of each month. So that means I am hard at work getting the September kits ready in just a few days!

A Walk in the Park

my walk last week.

Walking!

 

The walking continues!

This weekend was very hot!

And as you can see, not very

much shade to walk in!

 

 

We've moved away from the bluffs and

the Missouri river, but the farm land

is so beautiful, too!

 





 

Much of the trail has been under a

canopy of trees, but currently the

walking is in full sun.

I am getting tan!  Something I

haven't had in years!

Modern Church

 

 

I normally lean toward the old

churches, but I discovered this

more modern church in north

eastern Missouri last weekend.

It was very impressive with it's beautiful

landscaping and the little chapel was

adorable!

Progress

 

I have made some progress on my

summer afghan!  It is such a cheerful

afghan to work on! 

 

 

It is limited in colors

but, I am still doing

it very randomly.

The only order I have is a red row

every 4 rows of color.

 

I am using mostly Hobby Lobby's I Love

This Yarn, Red Heart's new 'Love' yarn.

It is very soft and yummy.

The pattern was found here.

Rambling

 

The August mornings are so pretty.

Misty and cool. 

It makes me want

to be outside to enjoy them while

I can.

 

I heard an old folk saying that

for every fog in August, there will be a snowfall.

I wonder . . .

 

I love collecting these old crochet

potholders.  These two are a very

similar pattern but purchased at different

times and places.

Summer Afghan

 

I really love starting afghans.

I love the progress, the finish

and the border, too, but the most

exciting part to me is starting!

 

 

I think it's because I am anxious to see if

what I have in my head is going to look

good once I start.

 



 

I was longing to do a simple afghan

in the delightful Cath Kidston palette

and I chose the wonderfully simple

granny stripe pattern found here.

 

So far it's been a nice summer afghan to

work on while I have put my other on the

back burner till the temps are cooler!

Heart of the Home

 

 

 

My mama thinks I'm cute!

She calls me her little sweetheart.

I'm little, but I pretty much run the

whole household.  I like that.

I'm not spoiled, I just have lots

of love and whatever I need.

That's the way it's supposed to be,

right?!

 

I've lived with my family for

five years now.  They got me

when I was two.  We were meant

for each other!

Barn Charm

 

I was driving through the countyside near

Washington, Missouri over the weekend

and spotted this lovely stone barn sitting

high on a hill.

 

I took the picture from down below

and cropped to see it closer.

 

What I really loved was the weather

vane on top!  I zoomed in even closer

and edited the picture below in order

to make it show up better!

 

The old stone barn was so beautiful, but

I was puzzled by the silo!  Seems an odd

placement for it and really different

construction.

Still Walking!

 

We had a beautiful day to walk

the Katy Trail this weekend!

This was my favorite section.

 

 

I love the bluffs!

 

It is not hard to keep walking when you

are anticipating what might be ahead!

It is getting easier to walk.  The weather

has been great and we start out early before

it gets too hot.

Award Winning Church

 

This church is in Manchester, Missouri.

It won an award in brickwork.

I love it that I can see the steeple

from quite a distance away!

Two of my Favorite Things

 

 

 

I thought I would share with you a couple

of my favorite things in my whole house!

 

A few years ago Lindsey and I were

antiquing in a small town when we

spotted these hanging way up high.

 

We had the antique store owner get

them down for us.  Their delicate

beauty was irresistable!

 

They became even more

desirable to us when we discovered

that they were actually original works

of art!

 

On the back is the name of the

lady who drew them and the young

lady they were gifted to.

Unfortunately, they did not date

them.  I would guess they are from

the '20's.

 

It always warms my heart when

I pass by and look at them.
