Pink Saturday And A Pink Giveaway!

Happy Birthday, Pink Saturday!
No other themed days has been as popular as Pink Saturday.
We so appreciate the work and dedication that Beverly, of How Sweet the Sound, has put into this weekly event.

Each week we have the opportunity to peek in on other's pink treasures.
It is sweet, it is fun and it is most definitely inspiring.

These two figurines are from Lindsey's collection.
She is a true lover of vintage.

I have many collections that pull at my heartstrings.  I was very lucky to discover this pink
and white enamel bowl recently for far less than I expected it to be.

It is our pleasure to offer a giveaway to celebrate the 2nd birthday of Pink Saturday!
Scrapbook supplies, shown below, to sweeten your craft projects.
Just leave a comment on this post by midnight, May 31st.
We'll announce the winner on Tuesday, June 1st!

Thank you for joining us on this very special Pink Saturday!

Altered Clipboard

Hello friends!
I want to share with you a clipboard I recently altered!

I used a dreamy new line of paper called "Thrift Shop" by October Afternoon. I knew when I heard the name of this line that I was going to love it! They also have another new release that coordinates well called "Fly a Kite".

The names of these papers are so cute! One is called "Collector's Item" and another called "Near Mint".

I added lots of layers to make this decorative clipboard. It will not be used as it's main function anymore but it happily sits on a shelf at the scrapbook store where I work, inspiring others to create with this paper!

I used these great Tim Holtz Grungeboard hinges covered with Barn Door Distress Ink! I love how they turned out! Grungeboard is a really flexible, textured chipboard which is one of my favorite new crafty items right now!

A crepe paper rosette and vintage mini ric rac finish off this clipboard!
I hope I have inspired you to try altering a clipboard!

Here is a glimpse of other lovely patterns from this new paper collection!

Barbie Wednesday

Hello friends!
I thought I would share a photo of one of my Bubble Cut Barbies in a favorite dress of mine!
This dress was one of my Mom's doll dresses from when she was a child and I love having that special piece from her childhood to cherish!
The dress is called "Garden Wedding" #1658 from 1966. This is a two-piece outfit of a pink dress and white lace overdress. Unfortunately I don't have the pink under dress but I managed to find a pretty little pink dress from my stuff to recreate the look.

I have many vintage Barbie cases! I love collecting them as much as the dolls themselves! I have quite a few in my collection and this one is one of my most unique! It is a hat box style with beautiful pink and aqua images!

Here is a photo of a Barbie recently unveiled by Mattel as the most expensive Barbie in the world. She has a 1.00 ct pink Australian diamond around her neck amongst white diamonds! She also has a diamond ring too!

Hello, sweet friends!
I'm going to give you a sneak peek at a cabinet we bought for our fantasy craft room!
No one usually gets passed those doors,
but I'll make an exception and invite you all in.

Lindsey and I were in one of our favorite antique stores a couple of weeks

ago and our eyes immediately fell on these adorable aqua blue glass knobs!

We discovered that the knobs were definitely worth the asking price and the cabinet

would be very functional also.

I don't have a truck or a van and it wouldn't fit in the back seat so in the trunk it went.
No rope either, but I had a skein of yarn!
Wrapped tightly as possible we set out on our journey home with our new treasure.
I drove very slowly and we checked it frequently to make sure it was okay.

We had a good laugh (and I'm sure others did too) and on the way home Lindsey
said, "This is why we are called Two Crazy Crafters!"
Thank you for visiting today!
Wishing you all much happiness!

Welcome to our first Pink Saturday post!
We have been admirers of this blog institution for some time.
For some reason we just have never gotten on board and joined in all the fun.

For those of you who know us, you know our love of baby planters.

Who can resist the sweetness of these little vintage treasures?

They are so endearing.

And Cute!

And almost always perfectly Pink!
Happy Pink Saturday, Girls!
Thanks for joining us and thank you Beverly of How Sweet the Sound!

It's the Berries

"Doubtless God could have made a better berry, but doubtless God never did"
I've been having fun crocheting strawberries.

I've also been having fun eatting strawberries!  My favorite berry.

I couldn't resist this cute little toy cannister featuring strawberries.  It's only 2 3/4" tall.

Come back tomorrow and join us for our very first Pink Saturday post!
Wishing you much happiness!

Barbie Wednesday

Hello friends, Today I thought I would share a little history about Barbie's little Sister, Skipper.
Skipper was created in 1964. Originaly she was available in three different hair colors, blonde, brunette and red. While Barbie was 11.5 inches tall, Skipper was only 9.25 inches tall and gradually over the years has become to be almost the same height as Barbie.

After many requests in the early sixties from customers for Barbie to have children, Mattel came up with the solution to create Skipper so that Barbie could baby sit without being too domestic. She was also a great alternative for parents that wanted a more conservitive doll for their children.

As like Barbie, Skipper's last name is Roberts. She lived in Willow, Wisconsion, and attended Baker Elementary School and was the most popular girl in school!

Skipper has had many friends over the years but her first were Scooter and Ricky which were introduced in 1965.

Skipper dolls are still being produced by Mattel, the latest one being Camping Family Skipper doll released in 2009.

Twyla on Tuesday

Hello Ladies!
It is hard to believe another Tuesday has rolled around.  Does it seem like time is flying
or is it just me?!
This week I wanted to share with you some of my latest antique and flea market finds.
This wall pocket is just so adorable!

As many of you know I collect the motto prints and the theme of many of these are 'Mother'.
This is a very small one that is made as though it were a locket.  On the back it said, 'From Jimmie,
Mother's Day 1926.'

I fell in love with the colors of this one, pink, blue and silver.

A close-up of the graphic.

I love these swing frames but many times they are just empty frames.  This one had a
beautiful print inside.

I have a passion for collecting old prints.  I think it started with the motto prints and now I just love
beautiful old prints in antique frames.  This is a small grouping that I have on one wall in our living room.

Thank you for spending some time with me today!
I hope that you all have a lovely day!
