May 6, Barn Charm

Hello friends!
Last summer I had the pleasure of driving
through the Femme Osage valley in St. Charles
County, Missouri.  I was smitten!

This barn was such a pretty sight and,
of course, I loved the barn quilt!

I look forward to visiting there again.
The area is rich in history.  It's easy to
see why Daniel Boone decided to build a
homestead in this peaceful land.

For other charming barns visit Tricia!

Have a wonderful day!

  11. Gorgeous barn!

We have a connection to Daniel Boone here in Oregon. In 1846 his grandson Alphonso, brought his family to Oregon by way of the Applegate Trail. Alphonso's son Jesse began operation of a cable ferry across the Willamette (pronounced Will-am-it) river about a year later. The ferry was in operation until 1954. The road that runs near the ferry site is still known as Boones Ferry Rd.
