Easter Bunny Tag Tutorial

Hello friends, I am sharing an Easter Bunny tag tutorial today.

I started by cutting a piece of carstock 3 x 6. I then cut off the corners and punched a hole at the top to create my tag. Now I am going to start coloring my tag using Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. To get a nice even coverage of ink on your tag, use a blending tool that has a foam base. This one is by Tim Holtz and it's my favorite tool! I reach for this to color and distress all my projects.

Next, I add Broken China Distress Ink to color the top half of the tag.

You want to cover your tag by rubbing the tool in a slow circular motion to get a nice soft look.

Now I am adding a little bit of Dusty Concord Distress ink along the bottom of the tag. The more colors and layers you add the better! I love how the colors change as you add the different colors.

I decided that I wanted ny tag to look more green so I grabbed my Shabby Shutter Distress Ink and add more along the bottom, making it look like grass.

Now I am going to add Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges of the tag.

I then cut out all the pieces of the vintage card pictured at the top of the post.

I cut out the "Happy Easter" title to be 3/4 x 4 and cut both ends. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink. 

Next I cut a piece of vintage sheet music 3 inches wide and ripped diagonally along the top and bottom.

I then added Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges and glued to my tag.

Next, I glued my vintage images to my tag. I used foam adhesive to adhere the title to make it stand out.

I then took Rock Candy Stickles which is a clear glitter glue and lightly covered the bunny.

When dry, the clear glitter has the perfect Vintage glitter look!

Add twine and a bow to the top of the tag and it's done!

Sweet Old Photos

Hello Friends!

Today I'm sharing a couple of pictures from my collection of antique photos.
This is one of the things that I love finding at flea markets and antique stores. 

I sit them up and 'decorate' with them.

The little girls in these pictures could be dressed for Easter.  I love the charming way they have dressed in their finest clothing with bows in their hair.

Allow me to share the new and improved Spencer who visited the groomer this week.

I don't have a before.  You wouldn't have recognized him!

A Sweet Image for Spring Crafting

Hello friends!

Today I wanted to share this sweet image from one of my favorite Rand McNally Junior Elf Children's books.

I love how sweet this little girl looks in her apron making a paper garland!

A Tutorial and Our Spring Giveaway!

Hello friends! Today I am sharing an altered bulletin board tutorial.

This is an 11 x 14 bulletin board which I painted and covered with paper.

The sides were painted with aqua blue paint. I then glued strips of patterned paper to the top. I took an emory board and roughed up the edges of the board to give it a smooth, vintage look.

I then cut a piece of patterned paper 6 x 10. I cut another strip 1 1/2 x 10 and cut a 1 1/4 x 10 strip with a punched edge.

This cute chipboard stickers and all paper on this board are by Cosmo Cricket from the new Garden Variety collection. The cute seed packet pieces are cut from the Garden Variety Element page and measure 2  1/2 x 4. The knotted ribbon is 10 inches long.

Glue the 6 x 10 piece of paper to the right side of the board.

Glue the decorative edge strip up against the other piece.

Glue the 1 1/2 inch strip in between the two other strips.

Glue the knotted ribbon along the edge of the 1 1/2 inch strip. 

Glue the 2 1/2 x 4 images on your paper. This would look cute with vintage card images or photos. Another chipboard sticker added to the lower right corner adds more dimension to the board.

On the left side of the board I have added the word "Spring" to the top as the title of my board. The long chipboard strip along the side and chicks along the bottom finish off this board.

This board is perfect for holding photos or vintage images. The great part about the bulletin board is that you can change the image to fit your mood!

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep

Today we share another image from the 1930's children's book.

This one is to illustrate Baa, Baa, Black Sheep.

Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?

Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full:

One for the master, and one for the dame,

And one for the little boy who lives down the lane.

The original rhyme is over 200 years old and was a complaint against taxes.

A wish for a bright and happy Sunday to all our dear friends!

This adorable illustration comes from a children's book that Lindsey and I discovered while treasure hunting yesterday.  It is from a book from the '30's.

What will poor Betty do?

We were so excited to find such an adorably illustrated book with thoughts of sharing them with you.
