Greetings, ladies!

Due to technical difficulties we are unable to upload photos of my cherries to etsy.

I just thought I would let you know that if you'd like to buy some of the cherries, I am selling them in sets of 3 for $5. Just get in touch with me through email or by leaving a comment.

I hope this finds you all having a very pleasant Thursday! Twyla

Hello Everyone!
While walking through a flea market Sunday, I found what is featured in today's post. A beautiful Vintage Barbie box!!!

This box is from 1962 and was produced for a Blonde Bubble Cut Barbie.

It's in such lovely condition! I am going to display it next to my 1961 Ken box I received for Christmas.

I could not believe my luck for finding this box! For only $3.50!
I was happy that it was made for a doll that I had.
The Blonde Bubble Cut was one of my first dolls I added to my collection.

Here is a Ken that I placed along with my Ken box. It's neat to see the differences in the boxes for Ken and Barbie.

Here is a close up of the front of the Barbie box. I love these sweet little graphics.

The original price tag is still on the side of the box. She was only $2.27 in 1962.

Here is photo of the side of the box.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my new blog!

Wishing you fun, Lindsey

I want to thank everyone for the very sweet comments on last Tuesday's post. I love hearing from all of you. I like to think that we are kindred spirits and it's by no accident that we have met in the blog land.
What is it about summer that makes us like to read? It's the one time of year that I love to sit back with a good story. Because of my love for knitting, I was drawn to the books by Debbie Macomber that take place in and around a yarn store. There is a series of 6 of these books now and I'm on the 4th one. I have enjoyed them very much and now I think I might read some of her other novels.

Because Lindsey has been creating scrapbook pages with cherries on them, I decided to crochet cherries for her to use on her pages. These are so fun to make.

They look great on her scrapbooking projects and she also wore one pinned to her shirt one day. I think they could be used in many applications. I am making them to sell in our etsy store also.

I'm sure you are wanting me to get on with the give away drawing. To remind you, this is what I was giving away.

I know there are random generators, but I like the personal touch so I wrote down all the names that commented on last Tuesday's post and swirled them around my pretty bowl. I told my son to pick one . . .

The winner is: Heidi Ann of Gold Country Girls! Congratulations Heidi! I'll have this out soon.

I have now gone 71 1/2 miles on my walk to Deb's house. I am so pleased that some of you are inspired to walk after sharing my goal to increase my stamina and gain better health. Just as a little motivator I wanted to tell you some interesting facts about walking just a half an hour a day. You reduce the risk of heart disease by 30%. Reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes by 50% and reduce the risk of breast cancer by 20%. Let's keep walking!
Have a wonderful week! Twyla

It was one year ago today that I began my Twyla on Tuesday posts. Can't believe time flies so quickly. I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you and you have enriched my life more than I can say.

I truly appreciate everyone who reads our blog and all those who leave us such sweet and thoughtful comments.

I decided to put together a little give away to show my appreciation. Some of my hand knitted dishcloths, a vintage tea towel, a Fire King creamer, a set of spreaders, one of my crochet mushrooms and a few other items that you see in this picture.

I will also add another gift so that you can have a surprise!

I have changed up my usual pastel color scheme for these more dramatic tones. Do you like them? Pastels are still my favorite, but it was fun working with the darker colors for a change. Just leave a comment on this post to be entered in the give away and I will announce the winner next Tuesday.

I am continuing my virtual walk and I have now gone 53 1/2 miles! It is getting easier for me to walk and I am enjoying it much more also. I started out walking half an hour a day and now I walk 1 hour a day! Sunday I walked for 2! I feel that I am getting stronger and have picked up my pace. I just know that exercise is so important and I must do this for my health.

I thought you might enjoy seeing my progress. Here I am starting out at 1 and have walked to Collins, Mo at 2. I'll have to resist the urge to stop at Smith's to eat one of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches in the world! Besides, it wouldn't hurt to drop a few pounds along the way also!
Thanks for sticking with me the past year and I so look forward to continuing our friendships for the next year!
Wishing you much happiness! Twyla

Hello friends! I had the day off so we got up early and went to a few Garage sales. We found a few good ones but most people just had junk.
Our goodies we came home with included this adorable set of angel figurines we found at an estate sale.

I also found this planter and a Lefton figurine.

We lucked into some beautiful vintage linens. These 3 hankies were only 50 cents.

I am always looking for hankies that have images besides flowers. Not that flowers aren't pretty, but I want cute little images like you see on vintage cards. So I was thrilled to find this Humpty Dumpty Hanky!

We found this lovely pink embroidered piece

and these lovely red ones.

A lovely tablecloth

and two kitty pillowcases with lovely crocheted edges.

At the Goodwill I found this pretty figurine of a marching band girl with wings.

We then headed to a flea market where I found this ADORABLE set of salt and pepper shakers! I so want to start a collection!

Can you believe that on my day off from the scrapbook store that I would want to go to Michaels? I really did.
And I found goodies!!! Look at these mushrooms! Pretty red topped ones and little pastel colored ones.

I also got pretty paper and this really neat chandelier stamp.

One of my favorite finds of the day was this Witch Hazel bottle. I saw a magazine article a few years back in a Halloween magazine showing a collection of these bottles as a Halloween decoration and I just loved them. I have been looking for one ever since. I was so happy today when I found this one because the label is so nice.

I wanted you to start your weekend with a chuckle so I hope you enjoy this little comic as much as I did!

Have a wonderful weekend, Lindsey and Twyla
