This is the cutest thing I have found in a long time. Every time I look at it it makes me smile.

It's by Relco, Japan. I think I was very lucky to find it.
I can't imagine that pirates were as popular back then as they are now.

One of my favorite things I got this week was this Paula Deen candle from Wal-Mart. It is Mystery Pecan Pie and smells wonderful. I like candles with foody smells.

Speaking of food, I made some Magic Cookie Bars. I put them in this large jar with a big lid that is hard for me to open. I figure it will deter me from getting into them often.

Friday night we had a birthday party for my friend, Susan. Birthdays are a big deal around our house. We like to celebrate! We chose the theme of Twilight. Susan loves the books and the movie and there is so much out there right now it was easy to decorate.

We chose black, white and splashes of red as our color scheme. All books were represented in the elements we added to the table. The apple, chess piece, flower and ribbon.

Susan was really touched and enjoyed Her evening tremendously. Spencer even had a special Birthday wish for her. Several years ago we bought Susan the shirt she is wearing that says, It's all about me. We didn't want her to forget that that's how we feel about her.

It is supposed to be spring, but we've had snow flurries today and are going to have a hard freeze tonight. I know spring is around somewhere. I can't wait for it to get Here!
Have a wonderful week! Twyla

  1. Aww. Spencer looks so much like Alfie in that picture with your friend Susan. I love how enthusiastically your family embraces get togethers and Holidays. You all seem to throw your whole heart into it, I just love that. Happy Bday Susan.

  2. Hi Twyla,
It looks like a fun party. Sarah and I watched the Twilight DVD Saturday night, it was the first time I had seen it. I love the little pirate dog, so so cute. I hope you are doing well.

  5. Hi Twyla... Just love your ceramic Pirate critter! Lucky you, to have a P.D. candle... I don't have any of her products... Scented candles are such a treat, and I enjoy the lilac scent, and the scents that are similar to fresh laundry... Your friend, Susan, is blessed to be in your heart! The party looked Terrific, and I love the expression on Spencer's sweet face... melts my heart! Wish I had a magic wand to make the snow go away for you... C'mon Spring!! Hope you're doing well and enjoying your day...
    God bless...

I haven't seen or read any of the twilight stuff, I need to see what all the fuss is about I guess. I am always last in that department. I read best sellers like 3 years later. Hope y9u all have a wonderful Easter

I too like the cookie jar idea but I'm affraid I would just have to leave the lid off and polish off the contents, BEFORE it got too stale. LOL!!! Hugs, Jennifer
