I have some cleaning to do.
1. Turn keyboard over and shake out the crumbs.
2. Wipe monitor of all smudges.
3. Do disc cleanup and delete cookies.
4. Dust off printer and refill with paper.

I am trying not to accidentally click on anything lest I get absorbed in a blog and not be able to tear myself away. The rest of my house is suffering from inattention, but I am trying. It’s just so hard when there are so many interesting and inspiring blogs out there.

I know I should be vacuuming and making beds, but that is so far away from the computer.

I love my computer because that’s where my friends are.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but not the Christmas that we are used to.

We are not putting up the big tree this year. This is what it usually looks like.

This is why we aren’t putting that tree up.

I have some special Hallmark ornaments that I don’t want to be chew toys.

This is our tree this year.

I am most grateful for the friends I have made through blogging. You all are wonderful! Yes, you know who you are! There is a long list of wonderful lovelies on our side bar. The inspiration flows so sweetly.

After my post on my mushroom collection, Diane Knott sent me a beautiful print that she had painted with mushrooms on it. What thoughtful kindness.

Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end. – Scott Adams

Wishing you all much happiness!

  1. Good morning, Twyla!

Ya'll look so cute in front of your tree! :> Oh how I miss having young adults in my home!

So do you wear contacts now or do you just take your glasses off for some pics?

Ya know, I learn something new every day! It never occured to me to turn the key board upside down! Duh...

I'm showing my small collection of Phlatzgraff today so come by and see!

  4. Your Christmas stuff looks lovely. The little reason for not having "hallmark chewtoys" out is an adorable little reason, LOL!

  6. Morning Twyla ~ I'm so glad that I'm not the only one not putting up the big tree. I soooo wish I could find an aluminum tree in my thrifting visits...but I just don't have an extra arm or leg to pay for it with!

    Love your decorations!

  7. Twyla, I'm so glad you like the painting! :-))
Our tree isn't up yet either. Hubby had some carpentry work to do in the living room lst. Maybe tonight! It's artificial. If we buy a live tree, the cat will claw at the trunk. I even had to "cage" the trunks on my artificial plants that were made of raw wood. But...the artificial tree is painted! So she leaves it alone. Whew!
I "erased" my toolbars, both top and bottom the other day when I vacuumed my keyboard! Now, how the heck did THAT happen! LOL! I had to manually shut down my pc and reboot. Cleaning can be DANGEROUS! ;-)

  8. Hi Twyla - the tree looks beautiful, too bad you couldn't put the BIG one up. Thankfully our chihuahua doesn't bother the tree, but my son's boxer/mix 8 month old "puppy" has a tail like a WHIP so he is NOT ALLOWED near the tree! (so far so good!)
Thanks for asking after me on my blog since I've been gone for a bit - no computer access for awhile and some other things kept me away, but hopefully I'm back and can get on with my regular blogging - missed it so! Hope all is well with you and yours - have a great week!

  9. Hi Twyla,
Your tree this year is beautiful:) and what a cute little elf you have
    :):):)
We are cutting back to and it feels good. Less stress.
Very nice photo of you and your kids, where is hubby??!! I know, taking the photo:)
I'm thinking I would like a shinny Christmas tree like yours. I'll have to keep a look out at the sales.
    Christmas JOY to You All.

  10. Hi Twyla,
Your decorating looks so nice. I love the milk glass dish full of ornaments and the cute little elf. Both of your trees look very pretty and I can understand not wanting your ornaments to become chew toys. Would that sweet doggie really do that? :D

  11. Hi Twyla

  12. Wow.. I really love both trees!
and.... I have the very same Bell shaped ornament, that you have sitting in the gorgeous bowl of shiny ornaments! My bell is most precious to me, it's one of the very few that survived over soo many years! I still haven't finished decorating and the boxes are everywhere!
What a wonderful family you have.
About that cleaning the house thing?... I've never gone to bed, and woke up the next morning to find that the cleaning fairies had come and took care of it all for me.. so... It will be there when YOU ARE READY. There are more important things.. (like ART and BLOGGING!)... !!! right? xox
    I love my computer too!
    Happy Hump day.

  14. That is the sweetest most innocent looking little puppy Twyla. I don't thing you have a thing to worry about at all. LOL Your substitute tree looks just as festive and bright! And I feel the same way about all my new blogging friends. We are so lucky.
