Halloween Blog Party!

Welcome!

Come right in and make yourself at home!

Welcome to the Blog party that Vanessa is hosting!

Can I offer you a drink? No, I don't think I have any of that kind of drink.
I guess were fresh out.

A chocolate chip cookie or cupcake maybe?

How are you?
You look kinda thirsty to me.

Maybe some candy would be good.

No, well surely we have something here that you would like.

What a beautiful necklace you have. A gift from your sweet Brother you say. How nice!

And what exactly is it you say you do?

Queen of the Vampires?
Well, that must be a full time job!

And I see you brought you friend.
What, what did you say her name was
Pat? Oh sounded like you said "snack" to me.

Do you like the table?

You like the Barbie? Yes she's a real vintage bubble cut given to me by Stacey from Flotsam and Jetsam.

She even bought me the beautiful Halloween dress! Isn't it lovely?

Yes, Yes the spoon really is magnificent! Can you believe that Stacey made that for me? I know, I was so lucky to get such a fabulous swap partner!

May I introduce you too Polly Pumpkin? She is really a very sweet girl.

She's just going through a very tough time right now with an evil witch that's turned her Father into a pumpkin.

She's trying to find a prince. Unfortunately she got stuck with this guy.

He's no Ken but he'll do!

Oh well look at the time. I guess you need to be going.
goodbye!
I hope you enjoyed visiting our Halloween party today!

Hello! Since we are getting close to Halloween I thought I would share a few Barbie's that remind me of the bewitching season .

Through out my childhood I was raised watching Nick at Night's reruns of all the wonderful tv shows from the sixties. Those shows are timeless classics!

Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stevens has always been the loveliest witch of all!

This first one is Samantha from Bewitched. I loved this show! Uncle Arthur, Aunt Clara, and Endora are just a few of my favorite characters!

My favorite 60's tv icon is Jeannie!

Barbara Eden from I Dream Of Jeannie was always so cute trying to please her master!

I love her pink harem costume and I still feel sorry for poor Dr. Belows!

I think Mattel did an amazing job recreating her outfit down to the cute little tassels.

The Munsters were one of the cutest couples! I always loved how Lily seemed to wear the fangs in the family! :)

Of course who could forget That Girl! I have only seen the first season because of the show not being rerun but I have enjoyed what I have seen of her!

As always thank you for stopping by and visiting us!

Hello friends! It’s been a busy week at our house. First of all, my son had a great 22nd birthday. Lindsey made sure he got lots of great gifts and my friend Susan was there to share lots of good wishes and presents as well.

My present to him was 2 days spent in Eureka Springs and a night at the Crescent Hotel. We began this tradition last year and had so much fun we had to do it again.

The Crescent is an old Hotel built in 1886, 100 years before my son was born. He has had a special interest in it for a long time. The hotel has gone through several incarnations during it’s lifetime, but is now it’s a lovely hotel.

Our hotel room was very lovely. It had a balcony and the view was breathtaking. We tried to spend some time in the room, but there’s just so much to do here.

We took the ghost tour. It is said to be one of the top 10 most haunted hotels in the United States. Nothing scary happened this year on the tour, but it is always interesting. After the tour we went on a little ghost hunting tour of our own.

The town of Eureka Springs is very interesting. It is built on hills and is called the stair step town. You can read about it here.

We enjoyed the numerous shops and loved sitting in the Daily Grind espresso bar drinking our new favorite – Vanilla Cream with coffee. The man said they invented it and it only has 10 calories and 1 gram of carbohydrates. It tasted sinful.

Can’t wait to go back for a day trip when the leaves reach their peak.

I hope all of you are having a beautiful autumn.

Wishing you much happiness! Twyla

Very Vintaage Halloween swap packages and Barbie Wednesday

Heidi Ann of Foxgloves, Fabric, and Folly Hosted a Very Vintage Halloween swap.

Mom's (Twyla's) partner was Kathy of Kat Collects.

Isn't this little bird precious?

Kathy was very careful to wrap everything pretty.

Kathy spoiled me with lots of goodies.

We are enjoying this beautiful wall hanging above our fireplace mantle.

This little box just took my breath away. When I opened it and saw the little bird inside I thought it was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen!

Thank you so much Kathy, for making this such a rewarding swap. Not only because of the sweet things you sent, but because of your friendship!

***************************************************************************

My partner was Stacey of Flotsam and Jetsam. I had such an amazing swap package. I opened up my package to find this gorgeous Paper Relics Halloween card! WOW!

Inside it was filled with lucious vintage ric rac and ribbon. Beautiful velvety purple flowers made me jump for joy!

Vintage paper ephemera and cute little pumpkins were wrapped in lovely black and white tissue paper.

Isn't this little cheetah girl is so cute! Don't you just love her tag?

She also gave me some cute vintage goodies from her flea market booth.

I love the pink cars!

These vintage Halloween images are so precious!

Now I want to show you what else Stacey gave me! A VINTAGE BARBIE AND VINTAGE CLOTHES! I could not believe it!

Look at all the cute clothes! I can't even begin to thank her enough for all that she gave me!

She gave me a Bubble Cut Barbie! Here are just some of my favorite outfits and shoes that I got!

Stacey also gave me a couple other really awesome gifts that I am going to save for tha Halloween party that Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist is hosting on October 18th.
Thank you for visiting us today, Lindsey and Twyla
