I am revisiting a craft that I haven't done in years!
There was a time when cross stitch was my main
craft of choice.
Elizabeth inspired me to get started again!
I was going through my old cross stitch
magazines and ran across this very simple
sampler pattern.
I thought it would be perfect to do one
for each of my kids.
The magazine is from 1990 and I felt like the
colors of floss called for was a little outdated, so
I chose a selection of DMC in varying
shades of aqua.
Along with the old patterns I found this 'almost
finished' sampler that I started many years ago.
It's a shame I never finished it!
I still think it's so pretty. I just may go ahead
and finish it up, too!
"He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly, To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?" - Micah 6:8
Have a beautiful day!

I, too, have some unfinished cross stitch projects. I keep wanting to get back into it, but I haven't found the time. Yours turned out very well.
ReplyDeleteTwyla,
ReplyDeleteI tried cross stitching just once and could not do it. Counting all those tiny little squares! Geez! But then I'm not a crafty person. You sure need to finish the cute piece you started, too.
D
Have fun, Twyla!
ReplyDeleteJust hearing the words cross stitch bring back so many memories! ♥
YES, finish the one you started! SO PRETTY! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteCross-stitch used to be my craft of choice, too. I used to do really big pieces on linen. But after discovering crochet again several years ago, and the fact that my eyesight ain't what it used to be, I did the switch and now when I cross-stitch, I stick with small, quick, easy. And if only one color is involved, all the better. :) Have fun stitching. Best wishes, Tammy P.S. I have so many unfinished pieces -- some from more than 20 year ago. :/
ReplyDeleteOh, so beautiful and fun! Love the variegated aqua! ;) I think you should finish your sampler!! Can't wait to see it all!! Have a crafty day! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch sampler is going to be so pretty. I love the blues. I don't have the patience for counted cross stitch... I always lose count of where I am. So I just enjoy the ones other people make. My youngest sister makes really amazing cross stitch pieces. She gave one to me and i LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteTwyla, I just wanted to pop in here and let you know that the beautifully crafted slippers arrived to my house. You are one special sister...I am so overwhelmed with the kindness of so many many sisters who reach out of their own world, and serve others with love and spirit and giving. God bless you. I remembered Tracy getting a pair of slippers a while back in her arm/elbow recovery and it dawned on me that it might just be YOU! Grateful from the bottom of my heart. It gets cold here in Iowa, and seeing you are from MO I'm sure you know that. :-) I will have warm feet this Winter in this frozen zone. Hugs and Love to you Twyla. Thank you again. Your gift touched my heart. xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I only did this when I was very young. I still have the colorful cat I did and was probably about age 10.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Lovely keepsakes! I like the verse you posted. I saw a T-shirt today with that verse on it!
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern you're doing. I used to do a lot of cross-stitch, maybe I should start again too!!
ReplyDeleteHi Twyla!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for being such a dear and sweet soul and visiting my sad little blog. You are a big sweetheart!
I'm trying to dig myself out from under so I can return to cross stitching too. :) Such fun to see it popping up again.
Happy happy weekend to you xo
You know I have been thinking lately that I would like to try cross stitching something. My new daughter in law...does this very well, and I may get her to give me a few lessons...maybe I can find something I can finely do well :)
ReplyDeleteYes, that piece is very pretty...you should finish it. Blessings sweet sister.
