Hello friends!
I created an advent calendar this year with our signature pink and red colors!
I started with a paper mache advent calendar that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.
I then took a silver paint pen to color the thin edges.
I tried paper, but the edges were too thin, but the paint pen was super quick and easy.
For the numbers I used this sheet of scrapbook paper. It's from Pink Paislee's Daily Junque line.
I cut them apart and colored in the numbers with pink and red copic markers.
Then it was time to cover my advent drawers.
So I cut and adhered paper to fit the front and used an emery board to file down and smooth out the edges of the paper.
I then took Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges to give it a vintage look.
Before inserting my drawers back into my calendar, I decided it needed more sparkle! So I took silver glitter glue and covered all the thin edges.
When I finished, I took a wide pink ribbon and tied a bow at the top of the calendar.
The hardest part of this project was finding enough small Christmas images!
It was a lot of fun! I added favorite holiday candy
or chocolate to fill my calendar.
I cut small scraps of paper and used lots of stickers to fit the drawer size.
Make sure to come back tomorrow for number 4
in our 12 days of Christmas tags!
It's also day 2 of Tim Holtz's Christmas tags and once again I decided to follow along and make one!

ReplyDeleteWould you believe I actually bought one of these last year and couldn't wait to put it together? I just realized 3 days before Advent that I never got to it. Hence, it's now gotta wait for next December!
ReplyDeleteCan you explain "copic" markers? Are they like watered down markers or something like that?
Jill
