Hello Friends!
A cute vintage kitty card for you!
I want to share with you a pattern for crochet coasters.
It's a simple pattern that I thought would look pretty in spring colors to use for your
Easter table.Coasters
I used a 'J' hook
Ch 5, join to form a ring.
Ch 3, turn (counts as first dbl.). 18 dbl crochet inside ring.
Join with slip stitch.
Ch 4, turn (counts as first dbl plus 1 single)
(Dbl, ch. 1) for a total of 18 dbls and ch 1 spaces.
Join with slip stitch.
Ch 3, turn.
Single crochet in top of first dbl, chain 3, single crochet in top of next dbl.
Continue this way around coaster.
Slip stitch into beginning ch.
Weave in ends.
I am not an expert at pattern writing. If something isn't quite clear, please feel free to email me.
I hope that you will enjoy making these.Enjoy your day!
Twyla
Those are such pretty coasters, in Easter pastels! Maybe in a month I will be able to figure this out. I am such a newbie at crochet... I am just trying to teach myself how to do simple stitches... so I will do a whole row of just that one stitch. Like I said, maybe in a month I will know how to "join" something, or what "in the top of" means. I really think I am a hopeless case! :-) It's a good thing I can laugh at myself.
ReplyDeleteLove the little Kitty card, Twyla...I still need to learn to crochet...
ReplyDeletePrecious card and thanks for sharing it:) I love the little Spring coasters but I can't crochet a stitch! Perhaps it is time I learn... hehe. Have a blessed day my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the adorable kitty! Your coasters are very happy looking! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh my Goodness! How pretty are these! They would just go in my Conservatory so perfectly. These are the colours of my throw in there.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty well done Twyla.
I'll have to have a go. I will keep the pattern, thanks for sharing.

Hi Ladies,
ReplyDeleteThat card is so cute, thank you. Looks like you're in crochet land right now, but those coasters are divine and I can think of all kinds of uses for them already.
Hugs,
Meri

Oh, Twyla, those are so sweet. I will definitely be adding these to my short list of "to-dos". The kitty greeting card is so adorable. I'm gonna copy it and save it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pattern :)
So cute...love the little kitty card and the coasters are precious...love the colors!!
ReplyDeleteLove the little coasters. I will give those a try this weekend. Today I blogged about crocheting and you inspiring the half double crochet afghan. Crochet is portable and has seen me through many times when otherwise I would be sitting doing nothing. It certainly draws attention from those who have nothing to occupy their time. The hearts continue to come in handy too as I've been selling raffle tickets for a quilt that will be given away at our annual Mother's Day Breakfast to benefit Operation Hope. When my friends at school buy tickets, I then send them a handwritten thank you for their donation and stick a little heart in the envelope with a piece of chocolate. The perfect little gift. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. Many blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteCute card and your coasters are perfect for Spring and Easter.

Thank you for sharing your kitten with us. I love the coasters and they definitedly make you think of spring. The robins are here and we only have eleven days left until the first day of Spring. Take care.

These are so beautiful, Twyla! I just keep thinking how fun they would be all joined together to make a blanket--I always think of ways to make a project harder...it's just a gift I have! Thanks for sharing these!

I made one of your coasters as soon as I saw the pattern. Very cute. I understood the instructions just fine, but if someone isn't use to crocheting you might add join to the instructions on the rounds. I know to do that. I made a hot pink one! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteTwyla,
ReplyDeleteYou make the cutest things. I hope you are doing well!
Hugs,
Kathy
