Cross Stitched Sampler Reveal

Hello dear friends!

Thank you so much for all your kind comments
on the afghan I showed in my last post!

I wanted to show you another gift that kept me
very busy during those cold December days!  I cross
stitched this sampler for my son's Christmas present.
It is not really framed yet.  We are looking
for an antique frame that will fit it.

It was an old pattern that looked like one I
could get done and still look impressive!
I changed it just a bit so I could personalize
it for him.

I really enjoy cross stich and hope to do more.
I have several patterns picked out, but oh, there
are so many things I want to make!
Where's the time?!

I found this pretty blue McCoy vase in an antique
store this week.  I love McCoy!

The photo below is just another
little corner of my home.

We are supposed to get another winter
storm this weekend.  I know many of you
are dealing with the same.  Stay warm
and stay safe!

"The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him.
- Nahum 1:7

Have a nice weekend!

Love, Twyla

  3. Beautiful sampler, Twyla. I loved to stitch years ago but my eyesight won't allow me to see those small squares or the directions anymore. I love seeing other's work and yours is a beauty. I'm glad to see that you signed your piece, many people forget to do that.
    Bundle up this weekend!

  9. Your cross stitched sampler is really lovely. I admire people who can do that. I am not patient enough for it, though, I always lose track of my count. I love the pretty blue McCoy piece you found. It looks so nice with the other blue pieces there on the shelf. And I spy one of your wooden shoe forms and an Enid!! :-)

  10. When I was younger, cross stitch was my passion. My husband gave me a lovely book on antique samplers after we married. This is a beautiful piece and I know it will be treasured. Hope you find just the right frame.
I love your vase, too. Mildred

  11. I bet he will enjoy this!

    It looks great.

    Stay safe-our storm kinda fizzled
a bit and made the weather people
look funny. We are still supposed
to get some now later today though.
