Sugar Kissed Embroidery Project

Hello dear ones!
This is a fun little craft, not only for Christmas, but for anything your imagination
can imagine!

It's a quick decoration, party favor or inexpensive gift.  Thoughtful though,
because it is handmade.

I've seen a lot of cute embroidered pieces around blogland and
not being good at creating an image to embroider myself, I decided
to try using good old rubber stamps to transfer an image to muslin.

Using a simple outline stitch and three strands of embroidery floss in
our theme colors, I stitched around the parts of my image I wanted to highlight,
leaving just the ink from the stamp to add the rest of the detail.

I freehanded the stars, simple enough for even me, to create a little scene.

You can finish it off any way you choose with ribbons or even
painting the embroidery hoop.
I hope that you will look through your stash of rubber stamps
and have fun with all the possibilities!

Have a wonderful day, my friends!

  1. I bought hoops weeks ago. And muslin fabric over the summer at thrift shops. Embroidery is on my list of things to try. Now that we are on Winter Break, I will have time to give it a go. You girls are having lots of crafting fun over here. Have a fabulous Friday! Tammy

  2. Oh I love this idea! How simple and sweet! As a novice stamper can you tell me what kind of ink to get to stamp on fabric?

Wow, you've done some really great crafts lately. Great idea with the stamping on muslin and then stitching. I also love the Christmas book you did. Can't wait to see what else you come up with. Stop by and see what I've been up to.

    Hugs,

  8. I hadn't thought of your idea to create a scene. I have been doing some free handing as I call it because my pattern didn't stamped. This just gives me another idea for when I need something small and quick. Thanks for sharing. Take care and Merry Christmas Your Missouri Friend.

  9. What a wonderful and creative use for your stamps, Twyla! I'm sure you've inspired others to try this. I hope you're enjoying your weekend and have a fun week planned leading up to Christmas. I only have a little to do to finish the family things I need to ship, and then a few things for friends, which may wait until after the 25th.
    Hugs from Florida!
    xoxo
