Giveaway Winner and Sweet Illustrations

Hello friends!
Thank you to all who entered my giveaway! The randomly drawn winner is:
Congrats Coralie!!!

I am still collecting these sweet story books illustrated by Corinne Malvern. She was an influential advertising illustrator and helped create the iconic fifties "look".

I am always on the lookout for her illustrations!

Corinne Malvern had been an magazine and fashion illustrator, but when her sister, Gladys, became established as  a professional writer, they collaborated to create children's books.

I want to wish you all a lovely weekend, Lindsey

  10. Thank you for teaching me, Twyla and Lindsey. I have been collecting children's books for the last five years (I love the illustrations) and I really haven't "educated" myself as I go. I will keep my eyes open for Corinne Malvern. This is one of my favorite era's and it so much fun to think that there is actually someone who is responsible for the creation of that "happy" look I love.

    Fondly,
    Suz

  14. Corinne Malvern has always been one of my favorites! I have loved her illustrations since I was a little girl. I don't think I have that Little Golden Book - I'll have to look for it.

  15. I love old Golden Books. Anyone have any ideas of what to do with them as far as crafts. It has to be good for me to bear to cut one apart!

    Thanks for sharing!
