Last Minute Valentine Card Tutorial

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a super quick and easy last minute Valentine card that you can whip up in a matter of minutes!

I was going through a vintage children's alphabet book and I happened upon the letter V. I saw this and knew I had to share it!

Here is the completed card.

Start by printing and cutting the image. I use printing cardstock by Georgia Pacific which I get at Wal Mart.

Next I create my card base by cutting down a 12" sheet of patterned paper to 7 x 12. I then fold the paper over and cut it to measure 5".  This 5 x 7 card is a great size!

Next, I took a corner rounder punch and punched all four corners.

I also punched around the corners of my image. I then took Tattered Rose Distress Ink and inked all around the edges.

I glued the image to the center of my card and added a strip of pink polka dot ribbon.

I used an aqua flower that I got from this set. I absolutely LOVE these Prima flowers! They are so pretty and you get so many in these tins.

I glued a blue flower in the upper left corner and added blue ink around the edges of the card.
That's it!

The paper I used to make this card is by Basic Grey. The line is called Nook an Pantry and it is gorgeous!!! I love the whole collection. It has a very vintage kitchen look to it!

Have a wonderful day, Lindsey

  13. Hi girls!! LOVE this cute card, and the tutorial!! How CUTE you found it in a children's book!.. but not surprising really.. Many quilting and applique pictures/patterns can be found in children's story books and coloring books too! LOVE the little valentine fish! It reminds me of sweet little Cleo from the Disney movie Pinocchio!! I almost bought a cute little "Cleo" from the pet store once, but my better judgment told me not to.. My luck and the poor thing would be doing the deadman's float in a week! Best to let the pros take care of something as pretty as that, I thought! (0; I might be posting later about my new Valentine Barbie, for Barbie Wednesday (along with the "Rednesday" theme/meme! I'm excited to have her, as what dolls were there were absolutely FLYING out of the store, so I had to grab her! ~tina
