Barbie Wednesday

I found the sweetest picture on the net! I don't know who she was, but isn't she precious? Playing with the Barbie Fashion shop from 1963.

I am jealous of this little girl! I have always wanted to add the fashion shop to my collection, but because of it being made out of cardboard it's hard to find in good condition. The ones that are in good condition are too expensive for me!
Can you imagine how much fun it must have been to play with? The style of the shop is so elegant and the big window display is so neat!

Sparkle Farkle sent us Munchkins!!! How fabulous these will look with my Wizard of Oz Barbies!

I found this video by The Pottery Barn called, "Barbie through the years". I hope you enjoy!

I hope you are having a great week, Lindsey

  6. I love how far we have come in these days of marketing...The little girl was precious! It was such a raw moment, playing with a Barbie wonderland on top of card tables while on her knees and NOT looking at the camera! I loved how unstaged it was!

I don't know how you keep the Barbie posts going...but somehow you do!

  9. This is great Lindsey, I didn't grow up with Barbies but my daughter did and they used to be all over the house. I wish she had kept some but she didn't she gave them away to charity, which is good too, but it would have been nice to keep just one :)

  12. I had the Fashion Shop when I was younger. I loved playing with it. My grandma made me many gowns for my Barbies and I dressed them up and walked them around the shop. Thanks for the reminder of that time.r

  13. all we need is a time machine to go back to the 60s and 70s to buy more barbies and accessories.

  14. I love your Barbie Wednesday! I was 12 when Barbie was born, and so kinda missed the playing with Barbie, but boy, I've made lots of Barbie clothes for my sister and granddaughters. Youngest GrandGirl found a Barbie Train Car at the antique mall where I have a booth...I'll have to do that for a Pink Saturday soon...it's very pink. Thanks for visiting....Sue

  15. I don't think I've seen the fashion shop before which is amazing because my daughters had a lot of Barbie accessories when they were growing up! I remember the elevator which they loved tremendously and the wishing well was my own favorite of theirs. Such fun to look for and find new items! Good luck on finding a reasonably priced fashion shop! Have fun!

  17. That picture of the little girl playing with Barbie really brings back memories. When I had my Barbie (early '70's) my sister had the great accessories, like a pink vinyl carrying case, and I had the hand-me-downs. I would have loved that Fashion Shop!

Thanks for another fun Barbie Wednesday, Lindsey.

  19. Oh girl, this post brought back some memories for me... I had a barbie fashion boutique that was made in probably 1977 or 1978. I used to play for hours with that shop! I loved seeing this one you shared!

  20. Hi Lindsey, love this post..and that little girl could have been me,right age but, alas I was less fortunate to own such a wonderful thing as the "Barbie Fashion Shop".I did have the dream house made from cardboard which was purchased secondhand...yes,there were garage sales way back when...smile. Don't know whatever happened to it but,I wish I still had it. Have a blessed weekend and A big "Happy Birthday" shout out to your brother. Your mom and you did a wonderful setup on the table.

  21. Barbie was pure magic for me, I was just thinking of all the hours spent playing with Barbies, on my bed, my parents bed, outside, in the Fairyland, in their jeep, at my friends...you name it, play time was pure fun with Barbie and friends by your side.
