This weekend found me doing some of the things that I enjoy most, flea marketing and thrift stores. Lindsey and I stopped at a few sales, but they are just not amounting to much lately. I found the most adorable planter at a flea market on Sunday, sorry girls, this one isn’t going in our etsy shop, she’s staying with me.

This adorable basket of kitties was a great find at only $5. When I checked out the lady couldn’t stop saying how cute it was.

It always amuses me in blogs when people show their feet. I feel like I should too in order to fit in properly with the blogging community. So, here is my obligatory foot shot.

From early spring through late fall there’s nothing on my feet but Birkenstocks. I have ( dare I admit this) 30 pairs! They come in so many cute styles and colors. They make me happy. Here are a few from my collection. I could hardly decide which one's to wear for my ‘foot shot’.

I started a new collection. Lord knows I didn’t need to, but they are so charming. I have discovered old autograph books. Here is one that is very precious it is from the 1800’s and is only 4 ¼ by 3 inches.

I love some of the poems in it. Here is one that I thought was cute from 1883:
Remember me and my best wishes,
When you are busy washing dishes.

Here’s another:
Beautiful thoughts make a Beautiful soul,
And a beautiful Soul makes a beautiful face.
If you enjoy hearing some of these entries I will be glad to tell some each week.

We are nearing our 100th post and are planning our first give away. Be sure to check in to see what is going to be included.
Here is a sneek peek.

I know for sure there will be some fat quarters and some vintage postcards. I think Lindsey is even throwing in some vintage greeting cards and I will be making something to include. There will most certainly be a wee planter too! We really want to show our readers our appreciation.

I usually like to recommend a blog each week, but I have been enjoying so many of you lately that it is really hard for me to choose this week. Please go to our list and explore some of the wonderful blogs that we have listed that you may not be familiar with.

I just hope each and every one of you are having a blessed summer. There are many trials that come our way, but oh so many blessings when we look for them.

Wishing you much happiness! Twyla

  13. I deleted my previous comments because apparently, I do not know how to spell after midnight. Anyway, I had no idea there were so many different kinds of Birkenstocks out there. And, I can understand why you would keep that little girl planter.
