Hello dear friends!
Thank you so much for all your kind comments
on the afghan I showed in my last post!
I wanted to show you another gift that kept me
very busy during those cold December days! I cross
stitched this sampler for my son's Christmas present.
It is not really framed yet. We are looking
for an antique frame that will fit it.
It was an old pattern that looked like one I
could get done and still look impressive!
I changed it just a bit so I could personalize
it for him.
I really enjoy cross stich and hope to do more.
I have several patterns picked out, but oh, there
are so many things I want to make!
Where's the time?!
I found this pretty blue McCoy vase in an antique
store this week. I love McCoy!
The photo below is just another
little corner of my home.
We are supposed to get another winter
storm this weekend. I know many of you
are dealing with the same. Stay warm
and stay safe!
"The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him.
- Nahum 1:7
Have a nice weekend!
Love, Twyla
Bless you! I have just taken out my cross stitch, too! I love that sampler. There is nothing like a sampler.
ReplyDeleteUsed to do a lot of cross stitch, just recently picked it back up and I'm stitching away. Really love your sampler, a precious gift for your son.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sampler, Twyla. I loved to stitch years ago but my eyesight won't allow me to see those small squares or the directions anymore. I love seeing other's work and yours is a beauty. I'm glad to see that you signed your piece, many people forget to do that.
ReplyDeleteBundle up this weekend!
xoxo

ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely sampler that you made for your son and I LOVE the afghan you made for Lindsay!!! The colors are so happy!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO ready for spring!!! It feels like the beginning of winter instead of the end! I haven't gotten any Easter decorations out. The mantle is bare!
Pretty vase! I went to an estate sale today...bought a pyrex pan and a couple smalls. Not much out there!!!
warmly,
deb
Thanks for the sweet comment about my dress :)
Your cross stitched sampler is really lovely. I admire people who can do that. I am not patient enough for it, though, I always lose track of my count. I love the pretty blue McCoy piece you found. It looks so nice with the other blue pieces there on the shelf. And I spy one of your wooden shoe forms and an Enid!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger, cross stitch was my passion. My husband gave me a lovely book on antique samplers after we married. This is a beautiful piece and I know it will be treasured. Hope you find just the right frame.
ReplyDeleteI love your vase, too. Mildred
I bet he will enjoy this!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great.
Stay safe-our storm kinda fizzled
a bit and made the weather people
look funny. We are still supposed
to get some now later today though.
