Hi! It's been awhile since I gave
you an update on my walking! One of
the lovely things about walking the Katy trail
is that it takes you right through the country.
Right where people live - and right where
people don't - anymore.
I am always curious about these old houses
that for some reason are abandoned and not
taken care of. In the case of the one above I think
it's very sad because it's such a lovely little house.
I loved the scrolls and gingerbread on the porch.
It was all still intact!
The one below would have been someone's
farm where I can just imagine all the living
and working that went on here over the years.
As they say, "If walls could talk!"
You can see the barn to the side.
Speaking of barns, it's not Tuesday without a
barn picture. This one sat high on the trail and I
could only use my imagination as to what lay on
the other side. It looked pretty sitting there in the
clouds though.
"If my people who are called by My name will humble
themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from
their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin and heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14
Wishing you a beautiful day!
Twyla
Hi Twyla:
ReplyDeleteI'd love to take this walk with you. We could imagine the families that used to live in those sweet houses. I like the gingerbread house, too! (and the barn peeking over the hill).
Have a wonderful week, my dear.
xoxo

Lucky you, Twyla, to be able to walk around so much country beauty:)
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful houses! It makes me sad to see them empty. :(
ReplyDeleteI haven't walked much lately because there's still something wrong with my heel/tendon. I guess I'm going to have to see a specialist!
GROAN!
I'm glad you get to walk, though. It's my favorite "sport" and then swimming. ♥
The trail takes you through some great scenery. I'm always sad to see old houses and barns being abandoned. They do make for some great photos though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views for you to enjoy on your walk! Wish I could walk with you:) Have a blessed day sweet friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteOh, how cute is that first little home! I could move in! ;) Such a beautiful walk and I wish I could walk with you, too! Have a wonderful day Twyla! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you were still walking Twyla, I'm so glad you are and that you shared your pics with us. I can't believe those beautiful homes, especially the first little cottage, are not inhabited with loving families. It's sad.
ReplyDeleteBut the barn, in all her glory, is very cheery!
Hello Friend!
ReplyDeleteI would so love to see inside! You certainly have cool house to walk by.
I see that you haven't posted October birthday's!
Warmly,
deb
The gingerbread on the porch makes you realize that someone really LOVED that house, once upon a time. I really like the two story farmhouse... how sad that no one seems to live there now... sometimes I dream of buying a place like that and fixing it up.
