Hello dear friends!
We went to the fair tonight and
Lindsey snapped this picture of
my husband and me without our
knowing it. It was my husband's
birthday, too! It was humid and I
ate too much, but at least it didn't rain!
I am sorry to report that Barney's
Thundershirt did not work. It started
storming around 3 AM last night and he
cried until the wee hours:(
If any of you have had similar problems
and have any suggestions, I'd love to hear
them!
"Therefore we do not lose heart,
Even though our outward man is
perishing, yet the inward man is
being renewed day by day."
- 2 Corinthians 4:16
Have a blessed Sunday!

Love the picture of you two:) I love going to fairs! Sorry the shirt didn't work:( POOR little one! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet photo of the two of you! And Happy Birthday to hubby! Sorry the little shirt didn't work....I've never heard of a way to stop this problem, but hopefully some others will have some good ideas! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh cute! Your hair *is* short like mine.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to the fair in years! It's usually too hot for me.
Aw, too bad the shirt didn't work. My Butters sleeps in a covered crate by my bed but will whine about the thunder until I let her out to go "see" it. Then she'll go back in her crate and go back to sleep.
Hope your hubs had a good birthday!

I'm so glad you got to go to the fair! What a great way to celebrate a birthday with a loved one.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry little Barney wasn't comforted from the storms. Wish I knew what would help because my little Maggie suffers from the same problem. She's an outdoor dog though and letting her come in and lay on a rug in our den seems to help. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
I was wondering if those shirts worked. I looked at them and they seemed a little pricy. If your guy is having a really hard time talk to your vet about some medication for him. Sometimes that's the only thing that will work. I've heard of dogs actually jumping through glass windows from freight! It can get really bad. Another thing you could try is a "gentle leader". It's actually used to walk your dogs, but it has a calming effect on my dogs. It was explained to me by a dog trainer that the leader touches two pressure points on the dog that calms them. My dog hates it though and will paw it off. It's not at all uncomfortable to him so I don't know why he does it. I opt for medication for him. It's too upsetting watching him stress. I'd rather see him sleep through a storm. Good luck, hope you find a remedy for your fur baby.
ReplyDeleteSweet photo! Hubby and I go to the fair to people watch and EAT! LOL!
ReplyDeletePoor Barney may need a little valium. Our Scout would just hide until the storm passed!
Happy Birthday to your hubby!
Warmly,
deb
Fairs are so much fun! Sorry about Barney, my Willie Dog always got under the bed and shook.
