Hello my lovlies!
You know the loneliest time for me
is when I've finished the newest Where Women Create
magazine.
I read every single word!
The only magazine that I do.
I couldn't help but spread out my collection and
photograph them.
So much inspiration packed into 160 pages!
I like to stretch myself artistically sometimes
and was inspired to do an altered canvas project.
I started out with a 12" x 16" canvas and Mod Podged
random phonebook pages to the canvas.
When it was dry, I painted with my acrylic
craft paints in colors that were pleasing to me.
At this point, I thought it looked like a good background
for a landscape, but decided on another route.
I looked through my scrapbook paper and chose colors
that 'agreed' with my canvas and started cutting out shapes
that were intended to be flowers and a vase.
It was great fun creating this. I think projects that
take you out of your comfort zone are good for you
and this was a beautiful day to create something pretty.
I wish you could see how pretty the colors are on
this. I am already planning my next one!
Thanks for visiting!
It is always nice to share a bit of my
world with you!
Love, Twyla

Oh Twyla, that is truly lovely. I love your color choices and the fact that you used realistic flower shapes as well as geometrical ones is really a neat idea. You can definitely tell that you are growing as an artist, especially when trying new things. Keep it up sweet lady.

I love, love, love that magazine. Bought one last summer and now have the recent one my friend brought back this summer. I have only glanced through it as I want to find time to actually sit and savor each and every page and image. Your inspired collage is absolutely gorgeous! Have a great rest of the week. Tammy
