Hi Ladies!
This is one of my favorite images.
It is by Jessie Wilcox Smith.
She was a great painter who painted
Good Housekeeping covers from 1917 to 1933.
The children she painted has such a sweetness
about them. I particularly love this sweet
little girl so diligently knitting.
Be sure to visit Beverly and the other's participating
in Pink Saturday!
Have a great day!
Twyla
I always enjoyed her work! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Twyla, I have also always enjoyed her art, perfect for P.S.! Have a great weekend!

Oh that is such a sweet and precious image! Guess what! I am happily making granny squares. The pattern at Tangled Happy was so easy and made sense. She does it differently than the patterns I've tried in the past and turns out it is soooooo simple, working from the corners rather than a middle. Why do some patterns have to be so fussy? THanks for your offer to help. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI love her illustrations too. This one is perfect for Pink Saturday! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYes, Twyla, I love her work, too. Maud Humphrey also did lovely illustrations of children - love Kate Greenaway, too - all innocence and purity - just the way I like them! Wouldn't it be a perfect world . . . we dream. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteJoy!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite themes is little girls doing classical "woman's work" like sewing, ironing, baking, etc.
Aaaawww!!! I hope my girls learn to knit!
ReplyDeleteSorry I've been so absent. I've been dealing with sickness and hormones! ♥
She is one of my favorite illustrators. I love what she created for LIttle Women too.
