Altered Cigar Box

Hello friends!
Today I want to share with you this cigar box I altered.
I used Circa 1934 scrapbook paper and chipboard by Cosmo Cricket.
The image is from a vintage postcard.

It was so fun adding lots of layers and distressing edges!
I used Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon too.
The keyhole is also by Tim Holtz.

I also decorated the sides and covered the insides of the box as well.

Altering cigar boxes is fun and easy! I hope you give it a try!

This cigar box is here in my etsy shop!

Wishing you a creative day, Lindsey

  3. WONDERFUL!!! You always do such incredible work!
I got some of the circa 1934 paper and I LOVE it--the colors are kinda primitve looking.

  4. Life is so odd at times. I was just reading a back issue of Where Women Create and there was this stack of old vintage cigar boxes. Some women were making purses out of them and I was thining how creative you could be with them and then Lindsey shows up in all her glory with the best box I've seen yet!
Tell mom, Patty is as cute as can be. Glad we were not shopping together or we may have had to flip a coin for her!

  5. This is so pretty. I just love all the layers. I am in love with all of TH stuff, but it can get kind of pricey. Then I want to hoard it! LOL!

By the way...Thanks for introducing me to Patty in the post below...I think that is the most fancy little rabbit I have ever seen and wow $3 that's such a deal...she's gonna be perfect in an Easter Vignette.
Hope you girls are having a great week...
    Big hugs,

  9. Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind words! I was so thrilled to see your comment!

I love your altered cigarboxes. Have you seen any cigarette "boxes"/tins? I found one (luck strike) that must have been my Grandfathers. I'll have to see if I can do something with it like you did with your cigar boxes!
